@WereOutOfNames Due date has passed, sorry about that.

  • The Submarine Battleship "Bakunawa" 5.2 years ago

@typeZERO They could be useful, I'll consider having a look at them to see if I can make them work with future builds.

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.2 years ago

@BogdanX Alrighty, also like you did I'm allowing time past the due date to account for timezones. If it doesn't make it for the time you'll at least get an honorable mention. ^^

  • N-5 Mk.1 5.2 years ago

So it seems you've been building free diving subs even before this challenge, nice to have you participate! And to have your entry bring me to find your boats :)

  • N-6 Class Missile Submarine 5.2 years ago

Well for a time I was scared this challenge would be a bust, glad you peeps are proving me wrong!

  • U.S.S Behemoth 5.2 years ago

    Oh boy! Another entry!

  • The Submarine Battleship "Bakunawa" 5.2 years ago

Well this looks like it's gonna be fun to try out :) Note that I'll be given scores in a post made after the challenge is done. I'm sure this'll score well.

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.2 years ago

    @typeZERO Splendid :)

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.2 years ago

@typeZERO I was advised to put the due date on Sunday, so I did so.

  • Iron Fortress 5.2 years ago

This thing is surprisingly good at offroading, the simple Gyro engine works well and gives it quite a lotta torque, and the wheels are surprisingly grippy. Quite a quirky and fun build, but then again that seems to be your thing ;)

  • Blohm und Voss P.188/04 5.2 years ago

Well you've come to a fantastic start with this new account, this thing flies well, the weapons work and look cool while doing it, and the visuals aren't too shabby!

  • Gato Class Submarine (Pacific WAR Challenge) 5.2 years ago

@RamboJutter Little note, the VTOL engines themselves don't actually need to be attached to the craft in order to function. In this build for instance I just put them on a detached floating block (hidden inside but still detatched). Just so long as fuel is on the craft itself they'll work fine. As for if it's jerky try adjusting things such as ballast buoyancy and the size of the control surfaces. Little adjustments are needed on this kind of sub.

  • Gato Class Submarine (Pacific WAR Challenge) 5.2 years ago

@RamboJutter If you're using the ballast system from this submarine then it activates and deactivates with pressing the LandingGear function.

@typeZERO There's still hope, I extended the deadline, and got Bogdan on board with it!

  • Submarine Challenge Announcement 5.2 years ago

It's decided, I'm extending the Due date to July 5th.

  • Submarine Challenge Announcement 5.2 years ago

@BogdanX Now that would be great! Thinking I'll do that then at the least.

  • Randomusername’s Builds (ARCHIVED) 5.2 years ago

Perhaps this could serve as a centralized place for unlisted links to RU's stuff, save people the need to search.

@typeZERO Hopefully this just means that the people intent on joining are still in the process of making their entries xD

  • YAMATO 1945 5.3 years ago

@Onedream A lotta peeps are memeing on the sheer part count of this thing, and I don't blame them. But here's a little reminder that the 800 hours put on this thing show. I've honestly never seen a ship build made as visually refined as this one, and suspect I won't likely again anytime soon. In terms of visuals this is the pinnacle of an SP build, making some builds made by plat users look rough and/or simple by comparison (Especially my ship replicas xD).

It feels so strange suddenly getting updoots on such old posts.

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.3 years ago

@KrAkenAtomic Glad it works well for you! And sorry if it's a bit of a hassle, I just find it more practical to have the Successor system keep track of entries for me.

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.3 years ago

@KrAkenAtomic How about you try rebuilding that thing on the cockpit provided in this post. Simply download the challenge, pull off and delete the fuselage art, and anything you build and upload on that cockpit will be marked as a successor. Also congrats on gold!

This could legit win the challenge if it doesn't make Bogdan's computer go thermonuclear.

    @MemeLord21 Huh, interesting to know!

  • Mobile Friendly Missouri 5.3 years ago

Impressive that you've managed to make a pretty nice looking BB in just under 500 parts! As one who appreciates and strives for part efficiency I approve! But next time try getting rid of the Drag, since that's a major source of lag.

  • IJN Battleship Yamato(Mobile Friendly) 5.3 years ago

@TheMachinist Have you actually tried downloading it? Drag is pretty much most of if not the entire reason for large builds to lag on phones.

  • Gato Class Submarine (Pacific WAR Challenge) 5.3 years ago

@ChisP Well the Oerlikon is actually Swiss in Origin, and it was apparently used by just about everybody Ally and Axis alike.

  • Gato Class Submarine (Pacific WAR Challenge) 5.3 years ago

@CRJ900Pilot More that that build's gotten less attention than many of my recent stuff XD

  • Gato Class Submarine (Pacific WAR Challenge) 5.3 years ago

@AircraftoftheRedStar Don't know if you find that high by my previous standards, or low by typical standards XD

  • Yoshika Miyafuji (Strike Witches) 5.3 years ago

You are a LEGEND! Peeps can hate on the anime thing all they want but I'd like to see them do what you've done lately. Both the hovering and flight modes function quite well with intuitive controls and good handling. The issues of stability in transition are noticeable though.
    .
The facial functions feel like flexing though XD I mean this build blinks on its own! Not to mention the feature of changing facial expressions with VTOL. Not complaining of course, as these elements are quite impressive.
    .
If you were to step into the realm of western animation you could totally build Jenny Wakeman (XJ9) with flight functions and even a number of the various crazy weapons she sprouts from her robotic form! Just a suggestion though, I won't hold you to it ;).

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.3 years ago

@Thelegitpilot13 But hey, I'm pretty sure it'll knock it right outta the ballpark for the Ace Combat challenge!

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.3 years ago

@Thelegitpilot13 As much as I'd like to...since you've already made it before I might be inclined to disqualify it on the basis of Rule 2. Just to be fair.

  • Aichi E13A 5.3 years ago

I see what you did there! Using a wheel for the nose is a genius way to save parts and make for a very smooth nose section.

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.3 years ago

@Irobert55 @Irobert55 The Alicorn can dive, so technically it can submarine :P. Also the Aigaion is really nothing like that 747 carrier. It runs on 24 engines and operates a runway that works just like a carrier ship...while functioning as an airplane. Point is Ace Combat is bonkers and doesn't regard realism in any way that'll hinder it from presenting crazy scenarios in story and gameplay.

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.3 years ago

@Irobert55 Just as a note, the Alicorn comes from the Ace Combat series in case you didn't know. Anyone whose played those games should know very well that the universe it takes place in has little regard for practicality. There's the Aigaion (a flying aircraft carrier powered by a ton of jet engines), Scinfaxi class submarines (a precurser to the alicorn but only a little less crazy), a world prone to warfare without MAD despite having nuclear weapons. The Alicorn is designed to be an epic boss fight for a video game, and for that it fulfills the role quite well.

  • A bit of a dilemma 5.3 years ago

Don't blame you for having trouble choosing, but I'd have to say the second one looks a little better. That map is looking quite nice btw!

  • Messerschmitt P.1079 5.3 years ago

Very nicely done fuselage, making great use of the hollow fuselages to make the engine visible through the intake. This thing ain't all looks however, flies butter smooth too!

  • F7F 5.3 years ago

Less than 200 parts for a good body shape, good custom landing gear, and a surprisingly detailed cockpit. As someone who appreciates part efficiency I approve!

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.3 years ago

@typeZERO True, true. You could make another sub though, if you have the time and interest that is.
    .
@BoganBoganTheMan Oh boy...well I was hoping for big names to step up to the challenge!

  • [Closed] Submarine Challenge 5.3 years ago

@typeZERO Hey don't be discouraged from joining! If you got something to make for this add it! I want entries, and everyone who makes something that's accepted get's an upvote and spotlight so there's no harm to anyone who doesn't win. Besides Eternal's gonna join this so you'll have competition ;)

  • SSCVLN-Strelet 5.3 years ago

Oh! And using Infernos as Guided Torpedoes was quite clever! Though limited in the depths you can go without losing them they're great for a piston submarine!

    +3
  • SSCVLN-Strelet 5.3 years ago

Now THIS is a great submarine. And proof that you don't need to go all out on basic submarine functions like I do to make a great sub. Wonderful visuals which combine elements of Submarine and Carrier design, smooth functioanlity, and a nice set of weaponry. Bravo! I wish you submitted this to my Submarine Challenge.
