@TurtlesThatFly I agree. MIDI software it different. MIDI software is good if you can;t store drums or can't have drums. But an entire song should not be made out of midi software. I know someone who is a guitar player. He makes videos on youtube. He uses a drum midi program. But he still plays the guitar and bass. My point is in order to make a song, some sort of musical talent must be there. Otherwise, anyone who knows how to work technology can make a song. Again, talent sets you apart from others. If everyone can do it, it is not talent. Also, $200 was an example price. My first keyboard was $50. It had good features. You could record directly on it. Despite having only.128 sounds, it was a good keyboard with all varieties of sounds. What I'm saying here is that keyboards have multiple instruments on them. They have a whole orchestra. EVERYTHING. And you are still playing a real instrument. One instrument. They are a better last resort than a soundboard. They are also easy to learn. To create a song, you have to come up with something that sounds good and is original. You have to have talent to play the instruments that make up songs. If you are not playing the instrument, and just re arranging what other people did, you don't make something totally and completely new.
@TurtlesThatFly you dont need a 1000+ dollar instument. you can buy a used guitar for 200 bucks. A used keyboard for less. You can buy an old v-drums kit for 600. I had a cheap a keyboard with 200+ sounds. They were good sounds. They had drums, bass, guitar, percussion instruments, brass, woodwinds, synth, synth pads, and sound effects. If you are going to "make music," and you cant pay a lot of money, buy a cheap keyboard that still is nice. It was a Casio PX-575r. I sold it for $200. Even though a soundboard may be even less, atleast you would actually learn an instrument and make your own tunes, and not pre programmed ones. I have never ever used a soundboard. I'm pretty sure I would sound just as good as a "professional" in about 2 minutes. Talent is something that not everyone can do and sets you apart. Anyone can used a soundboard easily. And I never said all of todays music comes from one music.
