Hi there, cool build! There’s one detail you missed about the Danish F-35A variant: the ‚hump’ on its back (between the v-stabs) is not a luneburg lens. That’s actually the housing for the brake chute. A number of countries have set this as a requirement, among them Belgium, Denmark, The Netherlands, Norway and, prospectively, Germany. You can find more info here: https://www.f35.com/f35/news-and-features/the-f35a-drag-chute-system.html
And luneburg lenses are detachable (though not in-flight), so they’re not used permanently or on every sortie/mission. Same goes for the aforementioned drag chute system, by the way.
@1031367473 Well, there is the option of employing either a 23mm (GSh copy) or a 25mm cannon (Bushmaster copy), none of which I’d necessarily call „small“. Sure, it’s no Apache … but everything upward of 20mm is considered a cannon and can pack quite an explosive punch. ;-)
This is incredibly well-built and even handles nicely! Impressive work - and not just for a newcomer. Great parts economy, too. This is close to pro-level. It is only slightly larger than 1:1 scale but that doesn't take away from the quality. May I suggest you add an actual cannon to the turret instead of a wing gun?
Excited to see if this receives more upgrades. You are definitely ready for your own builds!
@Falkenwut I’d like to go more into detail on this: since cannons seem to be a substantial part of this philosophy, it would only seem natural to able to modify the vanilla cannon so as to simulate an appropriate rate of fire, impact damage and overall „feel“ (as we all know, the wing gun and minigun are not particularly good at either). What’s your take on that?
Another cool little gem. Again: very smooth controls and great flying characteristics. One little thing occurred to me: the rudder seems to be stuck (at least when I downloaded and flew it first). It required changing some faulty connections and reattaching it to the hinge rotators. I assume the tail wheel is supposed to actuate with the rudder?
Besides that: I really think you should keep the color choice for your original creations. Really makes them stand out plus you already got your own little ‚brand’. Maybe call it
„Byrde Aviation“ or „Byrde‘s Flight“
… or something Iike that. 😉
Anyway, keep up the great work and come check out my builds if you feel like it. I’d appreciate your feedback as well, since you obviously have a knack for making controllable planes.
@MentallyDistorted I see. I went ahead and looked into it … looks like I fixed it. I removed the left main wing (the actual airfoil - not the cosmetic one) and mirrored the right one to take its place. Reversed the flap on the new left - et voila! No more auto-roll :-) Here you go, in case you wanna update your XML: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/lv87nd/Lockheed-EC-121-Warning-Star-auto-roll-fixed
Great build! Just some quick notes: the elevators seem to be stuck due to faulty connections (they need to be connected to the hinge rotators only and those need to be inverted). Similarly, your ailerons are synchronized, meaning: they both move in the same direction (solution: invert the right aileron’s hinge rotator and you’re fine!).
I really like how your builds are improving and especially the use of fuselage parts for the wings is a major step up!
@WolfHunter9111 I dig it. Whenever I get around to polishing this one up, I was gonna call it the „Boeing A-21 Invader II“ (as an Hommage to the WWII-era Douglas A-20 Invader), but your idea is actually quite cool!
@Gabriel747 What?! It’s only been about a month since the F-22 update. I’d be thrilled to be pumping out superior quality builds at a rate like that! Also, I‘ll argue that it’s well worth the wait every time.
This is so cool! The blending of the wing root and the fuselage is masterful. Controls nicely, great cockpit, no obvious detail-overkill just to show off, but just the right amount of realism. Nice job!
@WinsWings … well, I was joking since it obviously resembles an F-86. But as a replica, it wouldn’t really hold up, I believe (I didn’t use any blueprints, either). So there it is. Something kinda close to an F-86 … but not quite. ;-)
Looks great, waaay too much power. You can scale the engine power back down to factor 1.5 and will still get close to Mach 4 while retaining much better control overall. Currently, acceleration is just ridiculous. Also: „gun removed for stealth performance“? Come on, you were lazy is all! ;-P
Now, THIS is how you do a challenge! Publish an absolute beast of a stealth fighter and then make a challenge about stealthy vehicles and be like „follow this!“ 😉Well done!
You’re really good at this, aren’t you! :-)

+1This would have every right to call itself an S-3 replica since it is, in fact, better than most S-3 replicas on here. Nice job!
+1@spectre118 Same here! I’m on iOS.
+1T for sure! Finally someone does the Comanche justice ... again! ;-)
+1I read „Japanese burger“ and didn’t even think twice.
+1Best contribution in months by anyone! :-)
+1Love the simplicity while getting the look & feel spot on! Check out my Tornados, if you like: 217 parts basic version and 533 parts ASSTA 3.1 version with LGBs
:-)

+1T! This looks fun!
+1Holy moly. This is all I could ever ask for!
+1@IdnManufacturer that explains my phone checking out 😂
+1Phone says no to saving it to my SP collection. Damn shame, looks awesome!
+1That target locking system is friggin awesome!!
+1@Falkenwut , that seems fair, thanks for specifying!

That’s gonna be a beauty to fly!

@WolfHunter9111 $£%¥ plen. Gotta flesh it out at some point.
+1@WolfHunter9111 Oh ja!
+1@TheCommentaryGuy You win the comment section! :-D
+1@MentallyDistorted Thanks!
+1Congratulations, mate! Incredible progression in terms of output, hosting challenges and improving your build quality! Cheers

So it was simply a glitch. Not your fault at all!
Cheers

+1@WolfHunter9111 Ha! Now I see it too. Totally!
+1@WolfHunter9111 Got it. That’s why I thought it was clever. ;-)

+1Looooots of 99-part builds incoming! ;-)

+1@ZeroWithSlashedO Agreed. Although not sure if German Typhoons even carry Brimstone. Still … best stone.
+1This is spot on!
+1This absolutely top-notch. Great parts-economy!

+1I guess you could say this challenge is a success, at least in terms of sheer numbers. ;-)
+1@ThomasRoderick Thanks for the spotlight!
+1@WinsWings *Swiss 😉
+1@MrSilverWolf Sorry. Won’t happen again.
+1@ShinyGemsBro Haha! Did the same thing. Man this thing really kills now ... literally.

Anyway, cool design with some nice YF-23 vibes.
+1@SsKyCoSs Cool, appreciate that! Yeah I created it for one of those „less than 50 parts“ challenges and wanted to do something unique.
+1Well, looky here. Converging ideas! ☺️Check out my version of this concept: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/K0r659/LAM-Fighter-50-pts-or-less-challenge

+14/12 entries: Ford Trimotor! LMAO! You invited the trolls with open arms. ;-)
Anyway, I’ll try to get creative with this. No Ford here.
+1@WinsWings Thank you! Pretty much last minute, but that’s my style ;-)
+1@ChamDel78 Well it will probably run until the 15th is over, internationally. As it should. ;-)
