    It’s actually pretty simple, I just suck at explaining it XD @Kaos

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    I have posted a gif showing how to connect gears on imgur, the link to it is on my newest post “Gear Showroom”. Hope it helps @Genterprizes

  • Transmission Car 7.5 years ago

    Sure, I will start putting together a gear showroom now @Chancey21

    Thanks! @TheCreatorandDestroyer99

  • Transmission Car 7.5 years ago

    Lol thx it was crazy annoying having to wait like 10 seconds every time I would edit something. And the frequent crashes that wouldnt save my addons to the the craft didn’t help either XD @Noahater5245

  • Transmission Car 7.5 years ago

    Thank you! @EliteArsenals24

  • Transmission Car 7.5 years ago

    Cool hope it works out @AeroEngineering

  • Transmission Car 7.5 years ago

    i assume that you are talking about how the brakes make the wheels look like Swasticas. I couldn’t really find any other ways that were as efficient. I no way did I intend for it to look like that lol. If you are just talking about the design, it is the most efficeint and reliable way I could find. @PilotOfFuture

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    Do you mean wouldn’t? Because if so there is a certain way that you have to place the gears so they don’t stick to eachother, plus they’re different types of the same gear that are needed to make it work. (I call the Gear A and Gear B version of a gear). I will post a gear showroom soon that will show all of my gears and tell how to use them.@Genterprizes

  • ||SR2 vs KSP|| 7.5 years ago

    I know this post is old, but I am pretty much just going to be treating SR2 like ksp but for mobile so I would like it if it had all the good features from ksp and more.

  • When SimpleRockets 2 Comes Out 7.5 years ago

    That is a great freakin idea and I hope that you get that chicken into deep space and beyond lol @plane918273645

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    Yeah sure, just make sure you credit me in the description or something. Good Luck! @armanla777

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    Well you’d have to be more specific, but I’m pretty sure that tired in Simple Planes don’t collide with eachother, so they wouldn’t really work as a replacement for gears. @Genterprizes

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    I have absolutely no experience in modding, so idk if I could do that. But there is a mod I believe that has default gears, I’m pretty sure that @LimitedShelf568 is using it here , so maybe ask him about it. @Megaplanesinc

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    @Jayv210 thanks!

  • USS Tiny Controller 7.5 years ago

    @vtads sorry the uss tiny is huge so I needed a huge craft lol

    Haha yeah @Othawne

  • Piston Powered Car 7.5 years ago

    Thanks! And yes, the gyros are for starting the engine to make sure they go in the right direction @CDRxavier

    Yes it should @LeoTanaka2243

  • Working piston powered V10 engine. 7.5 years ago

    Oh ok cool @Othawne

  • Working piston powered V10 engine. 7.5 years ago

    Description says 80% right? @Othawne

  • Working piston powered V10 engine. 7.5 years ago

    Has trouble if I go above 40%, but still super cool!

  • Piston Powered Car 7.5 years ago

  • Piston Powered Car 7.5 years ago

    Here it is! @sexylips35

  • advanced turning gears 7.5 years ago

    Really cool stuff! I have made something similar that is nowhere near as good, and the way you did it is much more efficient and precise, nice job!

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    Ok, also make sure that the center of the gear is at
    x = 0 and y = 0 so that the teeth get placed in the right place. Good luck! @LeoTanaka2243

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    The basis of it all though is the formula I think is from precalculus.
    y = (sin(Ø) * r / 2
    x = (cos(Ø) * r / 2

    Where (x) is the x position of the tooth you are placing, (y) is the y position of the tooth you are placing, (Ø) is the degree of the tooth, and (r) is the radius of the circle. Also the (*) mean multiply and (/) means divide. So yeah that is about as simple as I can make it, I will make a post explaining it more in detail

    I really liked the advanced turning gear idea, really cool idea and works well. And The gears are kinda complicated to create, so I don’t think I can say everything in the comments. I think I will create a post explaining it @LeoTanaka2243

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    Yeah, those gears have a rather high part count, and as I said earlier I will try to make a version with smaller gears which will lower padt count, but it will take a while @LimitedShelf568

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    Ok, but it may not get done for a while cause the small gears will take a long time to build, sorry. @Genterprizes

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    Hmm I may be able to do that, just have to begin working on smaller gears @Genterprizes

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    The two parallel gears at the back are meant to put wheels on, but it may be difficult. I’m sorry I didn’t really plan that well@22zxSnakeEyes

  • Gyroscope-Powered Car 7.5 years ago

    I have tried, and the only way that I have found so far is via my piston engine “that works like a crank shaft”. I have gotten up to 35 mph, but it is hard to control and cannot throttle the speed, always has to be at 100%. But yeah maybe one day I can make it better we will see lol @Birdman9301

    I used the fast infinite rotator here and it went pretty fast but still noticeably made changes in speed when I shifted gears. @randomusername

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    I get what your saying, but I don’t think that that is correct. When it is in 3rd gear (fastest), it goes at about 34 rpm, and 1st gear(slowest), it goes at about 12 rpm. This is expected since first gear has about a1/3 gear ratio while the third gear has about a 3/1 gear ratio, so 3rd gear is expected to be about 3 times slower than first. They do change speeds. @randomusername

  • Prototype Transmission 7.5 years ago

    What do you mean by increase the diameter? Also, it is gear ratios that make it faster. I make the gyros power a gear with 3 units in diameter, then use that to turn a gear that is 1 unit in diameter the gear ratios make it to where it moves faster. If I want to decrease the speed but increase torque, then I make the gyros power a gear that is 1 unit in diameter, and make it turn a gear with 3 units in diameter.@randomusername

    Are you sure? Because I am pretty sure I can see the spin of the gears changing as I switch gears. It is more noticeable if you do it without the clutch, although it may get stuck. @randomusername
