    Maybe the tail is indeed from F4U.
    This plane is like all of WWII goodies in one package.
    It looks over powered compare to the protagonist's plane in the show.

    An entire aircraft spin indeed.

    @ChiChiWerx
    Thanks.
    Didn't know the Viggen have auto aim in real life too lol.
    For top speed I just trying to push reality a little bit by make this on par with some of the fastest prop "Rare Bear", that's it.
    I think the reason why it can't exceed Mach 1 is because I used heli engine as thrust and SP model the part very well, it came from accident really.

    You know what, for me it's fun to guess how will fictional plane will fly irl and what I like the most is implementing fictional features from the plane using irl technique. (and by turn a blind eye to some limitation of course)

    And thanks again for pointing out some details I completely unaware of.

    Only Corsair? lol

    We're discussing SP physics now? lol
    I know in SP, multi rotor will be possible with little trick.
    Good to know how SP physics works anyway.

    Just work on one module at a time.
    For some module, I just copy from my previous craft without relearning how they does it lol.

    I think you misunderstood something about rotor so I'll debunk them real quick.
    - Duct fan mainly use for increasing the efficiently of propeller.
    - Propeller is work by "moving a large volume of air at low velocity" so as aircraft speed increase, the propeller can't keep up and lost efficiently rapidly, eventually it'll overcome by drag.
    - Propeller suffer increase drag an it spin faster regardless, what you've said is just redistribution of drag.

    And for the balance, I think irl they didn't mean to create "Jack of all" like you said but to create master of everything.
    But yeah... it is impossible so the next best thing is a compromise between cost and how it'll be used.

    Why don't we have multi rotor combat aircraft irl if there performance is so good, the same answer as why don't we have supersonic jet camera drone.

    The balance is key my dude.

    I think that is the strongest smell lol.

  • Lautern Skyly J-2 'Teacher' 4.5 years ago

    @11qazxc
    I agree with the fact that multi rotor can do way crazier move than any fixed wing aircraft.
    But I think conventional aircraft have less drag than that of multi rotor even the body is super streamlined, the main source of drag will be from the rotor itself and as it spin faster the more drag it have to overcome not to mention the tip of the rotor going super sonic which is a whole new set of problems.
    About the engine, airplane engine is big, fighter is just an engine with just enough wing to make it fly so adding more engines means adding more accommodating component and if those added engines was not in use it'll be just deadweight.

    Yeah...
    The point is there is a lot to balance and the best fighter aircraft isn't the one that have the best performance but the one that have the best balance.

    That 0 drag at 0 degrees is what I looking for, when not activate it'll be 0 drag but the drag increase as the surface goes up.
    idk if some lift they generate have any real effect on yaw since the lift was counter by another air brake below.

    "you can use smooth function to store numbers "

    Understandable.

    "and make sort of self-teaching system."

    Wait what? That's escalate quickly.

    And for multi rotor, now you have the limit of having no wings and drag and weight from extra engines which some if not most of them may not be in use.

  • Unstable but Stable 2 4.5 years ago

    @CenturiVonKikie
    I mainly use wing because it can be reshaped lol.
    And I even have to buff up the drag for it to act as air brake.
    And yes... this code is complicate because I've use non-PID before and it either make aircraft wobble or not react fast enough so I have to accept the dark side.

  • Unstable but Stable 2 4.5 years ago

    @ThomasRoderick
    Indeed.
    I've always use clamp and in the case of PID, clamp become more important because PID can get it's value out of control real fast.

    lol
    PID in general is a doodoo.

  • Unstable but Stable 2 4.5 years ago

    @ThomasRoderick
    I'll check that out.
    I think clamp have nothing to do with the split-brakes going crazy, clamp is just basically limit the angle it can move.
    The split-brakes going crazy because it react quickly due to processing speed make it high correction per second while in real life it way lower due to limitation in hydraulic actuator.

    You're right, the original design used many parts from several famous WWII fighter.
    Nose radiator from Fw-190D, nose art and yellow bottom inspired by Luftwaffe, wings and wing cannons by British late war fighter, bubble canopy from P-51 and cockpit position inspired by Russians.

    I just googled it and found it was a visual scripting of sort which is certainly more powerful than FT.
    Well... FT is just a math equation and Vizzy is programming script so it is not a fair comparison if you ask me.
