I also tried making a plane without removing drag points, still happens.. I dunno... feels like there's a part or 2 that's not functioning properly once mirrored...
@edensk Good point! The plane has gone through many iterations before, during, and after this. Which goes to show why the final Panavia Tornado design was chosen as is!

As for you burn-out, I feel you. Don't push yourself too hard. Giving yourself a break from this game and check up on it every now and then. It'll help, trust me..
I've been in this road before - I suggest you check it out and dismantle it to understand how the parts work, but in a nutshell, here's what to do.
Ensure that both the main plane and the mini plane can fly by themselves. Otherwise you will loose control when either disconnect.
Make sure that the primary cockpit is on the main plane. Otherwise when you disconnect, you will loose all the fuel and control of the weapons on the main plane. There is a way to make both carry weapons, however you will need to modify it with an infinitely long winch of sorts, but the weapon aiming will always rely on the main cockpit part.... So far I have not tested this...
Put a camera on the mini plane if you wish to use it individually. (multiple ones for cockpit view / external view)
You will need to set an Activitongroup on the wing control surfaces and gyros to act as autopilot for the main and small planes..
If you intend to recover the small plane - Magnets are your friend.

@TheHaggisBasher It is in the works, however I have many other projects in mind before even starting this, so don't hold expect it any time soon.
Why not build it yourself? The scaling is the only hard part, the rest is no different than any other plane...

Personally, not a very big fan of the mis-proportional engine-physics used on the engine but that's me...
The wings kinda wobble on high-G turns. To remove this, set the partType from Wing-3 to Wing-2.

For some reason the plane is falling apart on tight turns.
As for gears, I would recommend making them from scratch - They'd look better :)
