@randomusername Electric motors are about 10x the size as turbofan engines of comparable power output, and their power source is considerably heavier than jet fuel.
@BaconEggs Both. Dangerous was fun, but I got bored with it. SC just makes me mad to think about, now. Im sure it'll be out before too much longer, but I have doubts about how much fun it'll be.
The answer to all this is "xml editing" which only works for non-iphone users. If you are a non-iphone user, download Overload and Finetuner mods. Then download this guide.
PS I like how none of you jerks upvoted what Random said, but then upvoted a guy who just posted "what he said"
@Kentheman OMG THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU if there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. This plane is a big deal for me and I think you and Zhou have the talent to make it something really special.
I want to see you start reviewing people's builds based on if they are Messerschmitts or not. Like if someone makes a Bf-110 they still get an upvote but you have to yell at them.
This would be especially fun for ships. "1/10 This plane has no wings or landing gear, I doubt it can even fly. Certainly not a Messerschmitt. Good details though, one point."
I am certainly impressed by the level detail. You seem to have added a few extra MFD's and moved an overhead panel onto the top of the dashboard, but perhaps not all H models are identical anymore? Keep in mind that instrument panel is 50 years old and has been in continuous use for that time. Old and worn, with a single MFD for each pilot awkwardly crammed into each side, completely out of place next to the antique analog gauges.
My only real complaint is the throttle. The insane looking cluster of 16 individiual sticks is one of the most iconic parts of the plane and easily sets it apart from a generic airliner.
@AircraftoftheRedStar Nope. I was wrong. The Soviet Sidewinder was the K-13 Atoll and it was not much larger than the American one. It seems the Soviet medium and long range rockets were quite huge, but then again so were rhe American ones.
Yeah, commie missiles were always much larger than their western counterparts. That's why the Typhoon class subs were so huge compared to American boomers. Even when they reverse engineered the little sidewinder missile, the Soviet version was gigantic.
@atgxtg You can bypass consumption by multiplying the thrust (or horsepower) and then decreasing max throttle input. The only downside there is the engine becomes excessively quiet.
@atgxtg Be careful about modifying the mass of any moving part, especially rotators and engines. You run the risk of the parts becoming glitchy. With engines, the bug cause the plane to shudder and the propeller to move forward and sometimes explode. Doesn't always happen, but it does happen.
@ThatoneMArtist Your english is fine, I just needed more information.
This was my first upload. The plane is far from perfect, I want to make a new one that flies more realistically. But I did spend almost a month building it.
I started by collecting data from wikipedia about the size, performance and shape of the plane. I collected 30-40 photographs of the plane from different angles, showing all little details like air-brakes, intakes, etc. Then I carefully resized a schematic diagram of the plane so that each 20 pixels of the diagram was one block in the game and used Microsoft Paint to measure everything as I finally started to build.
After "playing" DCS: Huey for 15 hours or so, all I can say about hovering (or helicopters in general) is ohmygod that stuff is so freaking dangerous you could die any minute you have no idea
My game crashes after two or 3 hundred thousand mph or so. Nowhere near a mill. But maybe at higher altitudes and on lower settings it allows more. Games don't handle large numbers well, things get hypothetical and then they just plain quit making sense at all. Certain data values have a hard limit, others just get blurry.
The real question is, does the person posting the challenge deserve all the sucessor points that they'll get off of other people? Most challenges are pretty awesome, but I've seen a lot of "LOL, sorry guys. 2 busy 2 judge"* posts lately. Some people won't even take the time to properly link the winning build in the completion announcement.

Very efficient
Your style favors futurism. Kind of reminds me of retro electro. So, Tron, I guess?
+1@randomusername Some day it'll be the future, but not yet.
See what I did there? :D
+1@Spitfirelad05 It's tricky. It works like this.
[Words you want them to see](website goes here)
@Spitfirelad05 Thanks!
@randomusername Electric motors are about 10x the size as turbofan engines of comparable power output, and their power source is considerably heavier than jet fuel.
We're gonna need you to fix that link a bit.
You can do that without a mod, but I guess this streamlines the process.
@dsr1aviation Thanks! It took forever.
Why would anyone not want this problem?
Reevaluate your definition of "important."
Teasers have pictures and videos and stuff.
I don't think you can get rotators to move in two directions with one touch.

@BaconEggs Hmm. I used to play Eve with two monitors, but that game is nothing but chat windows and spreadsheets.
@QingyuZhou It looks great. You are the king of big jets. And police cars. Also, probably other stuff.
@Kentheman OMG THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU if there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. This plane is a big deal for me and I think you and Zhou have the talent to make it something really special.
+1@AdlerSteiner That's how I approach most modern heavy metal. Does this remind me of Slayer?
Sup dawg. We heard u like planes.
We put a plane in your plane so you can be fly while u fly!
+2Confirmed, BF-109 was not a tank.

I INSIST YOU INCLUDE THIS
Also, the panels are flat light grey, like this
+1meh
+1One hell of a jump in quality!
Nice work, man!
+1So the rumors about physically large builds are true? They do effect performance as much as part counts?
ThanxNothanx
+1@randomusername You the real winner.
+1The announcement weighs 1.5 tons
+5Everything you posted is busted.

K-9 seems to be extra high speed medium range.
Groovie

@atgxtg You should be able to mqke the engine as powerful as you like. Is this a propeller or a jet?
Very stylish
Gorgeous

@ThatoneMArtist Thank you. I hope you enjoy it.

@ThatoneMArtist I don't understand your questiins. Can you rephrase them?

@AdlerSteiner
Really great screenshots!

OH MY GOD GUYS PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ME.
Hovering is a simple maneuver since when?
Great, thanks.
