@zyxtom no problem. Your latest four builds show good potential, and I'd like to see you progress. I'll be following you so I don't miss your future builds.

  • CASA C-101 Aviojet (Trainer) 8.5 years ago

@zyxtom around 0.5 at roots and 0.25 at tips, but they look thick here. Try using Overload mod to input custom dimensions. The thing near the top of Overload window that says "Part" is a drop-down menu, and gives you other tabs. You can do a lot of things with that.

Not much in terms of design, but very easy to fly. It bounces off the water, which is fun. Landing gear would be a nice addition. Also, since you seem to be new around here, here's my copy-paste tips for new users:

Welcome to the community. Read the rules here. You will gain points (the number in the white square next to your username). One "Upvote" on a plane you upload brings 15 points, and an upvote on the forum post brings 2 points. Once you reach 100 points, your point field (currently white) will turn bronze, at 1000 points silver, at 5000 gold, and black (we call it platinum) at 25000 points. To tag a person in the comment, put "@" in front of their username, or hit the "Reply" button on their comment (ex: @PandaGamer). This will send notification to the person you mentioned. I wish you a happy stay in the SimplePlanes community, and a lot of points.

If you need anything, just ask.

    @ChaMikey no problem

  • Coast Guard Boat - Barracuda 8.5 years ago

@Rcb1235 no problem. It's a very nice cutter (that's what US Coast Guard calls large boats).

  • Raven II 8.5 years ago

    @SledDriver cool

  • Raven II 8.5 years ago

@SledDriver yup. You have an interesting technique, but a bit abstract designs for my taste. This one has a genuine plane shape. Your technique would be very usefull for me and many others, for crafting wing roots and other smooth curves.

  • CASA C-101 Aviojet (Trainer) 8.5 years ago

Pretty nice. Just a few "flaws" I noticed. Wings are too thick, and wide. Also, I think it looks better when stock control surfaces are left behind the fuselage wings, so they don't clip through blocks.

  • M.Corp C-2 Van 8.5 years ago

@CRJ900Pilot DeezDucks already noticed that. I rushed the upload just to get this plane off of my projects list, and didn't fix that.

  • M.Corp C-2 Van 8.5 years ago

@CRJ900Pilot yup. Kinda based on An-26, but with a bit of a western touch.

  • M.Corp C-2 Van 8.5 years ago

@BaconAircraft I just checked. SP connections glitch again... The rudder got attached to the vertical stabilizer, and the hinge got detached from it, and all I did since last testing the rudder was landing lights on wings...

  • M.Corp C-2 Van 8.5 years ago

@BaconAircraft rudder got killed? I did one last test before upload, but didn't use rudder. I rarely do that.

  • MA 79 Fatty 8.5 years ago

@Kambeckham yup. There's a wing made out of fuselage blocks, and an actual wing piece inside it, with control surfaces sticking out behind

  • DM-23 "Sparrow" 8.5 years ago

It's very cute. Maybe you should make it into a higher quality build

  • F-105D Thunderchief 8.5 years ago

Very nice. Great details, good functionality, and great performance. I'm not an expert on F-105, but that's the kind of performance I would expect from a plane like that.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@ShatSlanger you have some very nice builds. However, guys on the chat are apparently not in a mood to add new guys. They voted against three very good users in a row in the last few weeks.

  • This makes no S E N S E 8.5 years ago

That is a thing called dissymmetry of lift (Wiki article). It makes a rotorcraft roll and yaw in forward flight, but doesn't influence hover.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@Supercraft888 apology accepted. I hope we won't have any further incidents of this kind.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@RAF1 that's not what it was originally about. You were talking some very ugly stuff about us. It saddens me to hear that you guys could have such an opinion about us without even knowing us. I am doing my best to be fair to everyone on this site, and so do most of other members of our group. And this is what we get.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@RAF1 you have a bit of a contradiction there, buddy. "The SP Underlings chat isn't bad and it doesn't corrupt what you have established with the Master Chat." implies that you are not intending to cause trouble. On the other hand, "Have fun dealing with us." suggests otherwise.

I never said that all good builders are on our chat, or that anyone should feel bad about not being on it. Also, we respect and support other groups. I am in a few chats, both groups and "private", with lower ranking users, where I hang out with them, teach them my tricks, etc. I'm also a member of Dllama4's Builders Group.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.5 years ago

@JosephB2001 I never said that Tully's builds are bad. I like them. But tastes in the group differ, and everyone has a right to vote. We are not, unfortunately, a group of all good builders. Some are rejected for reasons I find a bit dumb, but still, I can't overrule a vote. We are a democracy.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@Redecm you are very good for your level. Keep progressing, and you'll be more than good enough for Masters by the time you are gold. Also, you say you are 13yo. Despite there being a rule against explicit material in our group, it's not exactly child-friendly.

  • Update Suggestion: Longer Range 8.5 years ago

@MasterLobster then someone must make HMS Sheffield, so you can simulate that action on Multiplayer :)

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@MrDoolittle I don't spend a week straight in the editor. I spend around two hours of my spare time a day on SimplePlanes, sometimes a bit more. I also like my builds to both look and perform realistically. That includes a lot of research, so I can know what is realistic. Fine details take time, and so does perfect balancing of a plane. It also happens that I lose motivation or inspiration, and spend half an hour just looking at an unfinished plane. I also don't consider SimplePlanes a game, like other games. I used to make wooden gliders a lot, and draw planes, before I had SimplePlanes. SimplePlanes replaced those two hobbies, as it gives more options for less money. Some people spend months and hundreds of dollars on model planes. I have spent around $250 including buying a laptop. As for people spending an hour on builds like mine, I don't think I saw any one of those. It does take a lot of time. Finding inspiration, finding realistic, constructionally plausible, cost effective way of adding all the parts that a plane needs on a fictional build takes knowledge of those parts and systems, and actual construction of a plane, if you want them to be realistic. Half of my building time is spent on planning how to install a desired feature.

  • Q and A with EternalDarkness 8.5 years ago

@Dllama4 I was lucky to be noticed by Cedy117 and DeezDuckz early on. They provided some good critics, that helped me improve. Also, I was uploading a lot.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@Ihavenorealideawhatiamdoing he is good. Not too active in the community, and I'd rather wait for him to get even better, but he's good.

  • Q&A With Dllama4 8.5 years ago

1: You are mostly a gun builder. What keeps you with guns?
2: Where do you get your inspiration and motivation?
3: Why do you make so many forum posts?

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@TheNightmare811 it's Google Hangouts based group. I'll have you in mind for one of the future votings

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@corsair013 you have some very sweet builds. However, that's not a constant quality. You are a good builder when you try hard, but that's not every time. You get into the group if a member suggest that we add you, and five or more members vote "Yes".

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@LiamW @CoolPeach thank you for understanding

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@PhantomBladeCorp you are also on my list of people to suggest, but it's a very long list. Hopefully, you'll join us on the chat, but I cannot guarantee it due to the fact that we are all voting for new members.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@General360 I'm sure you will. Also, Overload mod. Allows you to do most of the xml editing without leaving the editor

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@TheMutePaper of course. We sen a notification via comment on an unlisted post.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@General360 It's nice. I didn't fly it, I'll have to do that when I'm back at my laptop. Visually, an improvement over your old stuff is obvious.

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

    @General360 no problem, buddy

  • SimplePlanes Masters, Reminder of our goals 8.5 years ago

@Dllama4 it's all right. Situation seems to be fixing itself. I don't hold a grudge against you, and helping defuse the situation on the "Underlings" chat is, for me, more than enough to negate the fact that you are a member there. You are still on my list of people who I consider suitable for Masters group.
