This is the point that makes me incredibly, incredibly furious, especially since I'm a student of Economics and Commerce, however, I understand your perplexion and will attempt to break it down step-by-step.
1. Making a new game is never a "waste of money". The developer will be investing in a project that will only serve to give them more returns in the future.
2. With a community as dedicated as the one SimplePlanes has, a SP2 will definitely attract a lot of attention and will sell equally as well as SimplePlanes, and will almost certainly surpass it. I will explain the latter in forthcoming points.
3. Jundroo can't keep updating a 5-year old game for free. It doesn't make financial sense. Eventually the cost of maintaining the game will exceed the revenue earned from the website and from the game's sales.
4. Jundroo could've, in my opinion, capitalized on SP release 1.10 to rebrand the SimplePlanes game as SP 2.0, releasing WNP's glass and smoothening as a 1.9.x+1 update. That, however, is a lost opportunity and it doesn't matter anymore. The developers could, conversely, provided they do release a SimplePlanes 2, use this new game and utilize better marketing strategies (partnership with YouTubers, better use of social media, etc.) in order to propagate their game. A relaunch/rebranding/sequel will definitely help SP and will give it a tremendous boost in popularity.

3. Lots of overlapping bits and pieces that stick up in an odd manner.
4. Ungodly fast acceleration. What kind of plane accelerates from 0- Mach 1 in 5 seconds?
5. No Airbrake.
6. No Flaps.
7. No Trim.
8. No yaw on the main gear.
9. That kinda nozzle is meant to have TVC, this is just static.
10. 20 Guardians, but that's a nitpick.
Overall, I feel this was rushed and had 0 testing, much like... well, 99% of your builds. You can improve, mate.
If your girlfriend is willing to block you and completely cut of all ties with you because you do not like a singular music band, that individual is not meant to be in your life.
It is not gonna be easy moving on, but engage in activities that give you a distraction. It'll take 4 days, a week at most, but you'll get over it. Such events are not worth getting depressed over.
Reality: Plane 1 and Plane 2 are the exact same plane. The only difference is the higher part count due to the addition of custom missiles and a wolf logo in Plane 1.
Conclusion: In SimplePlanes, screenshot is everything if you are intent on gaining upvotes.

Well, a lot of planes now a days DO have all those. Look at two of my planes, for example: My MiG-21 Bison and My HT-03 "Funky Flier". Why do they both have 40+ upvotes? It's because the aircraft fills the thumbnail. The text is secondary. Even though the latter craft essentially has a 2012 YouTube thumbnail, the first thing people see is a well-taken photograph of your aircraft. You don't even need it to have 90% coverage, but you need to ensure that people can see it. The issue with your plane is that the thumbnail is bland. It neither gives a good view of the craft, nor does it have any clickbait-worthy stuff (although that's unethical, it works.)
You don't advertise!: "What? But I made teasers and... well, that's all I did."

Bear in mind that Plane 1 was posted by me, a silver user, and Plane 2 by Mahadi, a platinum user who has nearly reached 100k.
Plane 1 has a clickbait thumbnail with a custom background, the Dassault logo and some nice, fancy text. Lovely, right?
Plane 2 has a plain background, no text. Oh, it looks so bland.
Plane 1 has 1500 parts. Damn, that means the plane must be excellent in quality!
Plane 2 has 600 parts. Eh, that's average. Must be a meh plane.
Outcome: Plane 1 gets 105 upvotes. Plane 2 gets 60 upvotes.
