  • This is a good community 3.2 years ago

@AndrewishFollower, but the post I was talking about appears to be related an ongoing war, and it attracted people willing to put politics there and/or remove it for being political, despite the craft breaking no rules. Take a look at the drama on the crafts that had a certain flag; it really has something to do with politics.

@NakAk, how to put images in forums?
    .
    Use this code:

Ability to save custom colour pallets in the designer for use in other craft

You can either copy and paste the XML for the colors or try to make a successor of another craft.

More islands, airports and places to explore (drag strip, city etc.)

The game cannot support more islands, sorry.

Can you at least put the codes into a codeblock, using 3 back ticks each in the front and the end, as in the markdown formatting tutorial, so the spaces will be shown so I can read better? Thanks.

This is unnecessary and distracts people from commenting on why. Just put the “(Comment why to support)” and you’re probably done.

  • Lightning Dragon 3.2 years ago

Looks very decent. Only things I want are that the wings should be straight instead of swept back (assuming prop planes cannot go fast enough), the base of the wings and fins should be thicker, and the propeller hub should be visibly separated instead of being attached to the hull (like putting a small gap between the fuselage and the hub).

Smooth with stunning photos, you should become a cameraman for hire! Now the plane appears disproportionate, so it’s a good thing you use DesignerSuite (already added in the game, in the mods section), and try to make the plane in line with the blueprints. The cockpit appears nonexistent; I assume you had to make the part count lower so you didn’t include the cockpit. Also you should thicken the base of the wings and the tips thin. Hope that helps. :)

  • Final Version of my Grandpa's Semi is being Planned 3.2 years ago

@T8flight, they can follow you and reveal your location. While the police have already done that, there are private, paid services that can use various methods to follow you and your license plate to your home, potentially allowing advertisers, scammers, and even robbers to visit your home to cause mayhem and chaos in your life. There could even be “identity theft”. The blame could be directed at you for something you did not commit, just because someone copied your license plate and used it to commit unexpected actions. This could give you unexpected consequences as said person may have committed crimes using your license plate to either to hide their identity or to lay blame on you. So it’s better to redact license plates when posting photos than to expose you to these real life consequences.

The wings and the design made me think this is a fictional plane straight out of a typical dieselpunk fantasy setting. On the other hand, the hull appears to only work as a helicopter hull, since the exposed frames, while creative, cause a good amount of drag.

  • Today’s My Brithday !!! 3.2 years ago

    Sir.
    .
You are likely going to be permanently banned from this site; the site has a rule in the terms of service that says that you cannot use the site nor create an account here, unless you are 13 years old or more (or in the case of EU citizens, 16 years or more).
    .
That rule was actually instituted because Jundroo has to comply with COPPA, a law that restricts websites to knowingly collect “personal information” on persons under 13 years old (defined as “minors”), but the language and broad nature of what is considered “personal information” makes it prohibitively expensive for all companies to comply, and such they, along with Junior, decided to ban persons under 13 years old from using their websites. You, under the age of 13 may mean that Jundroo has knowingly collected what is “private information” from you according to COPPA and may need to destroy such info, which may include deleting your account permanently with no recourse of recovery.

  • Final Version of my Grandpa's Semi is being Planned 3.2 years ago

@Strikefighter04, sorry, but there are real risks associated with showing unredacted license plates, as they can be either be scanned by paid services to get advertisers and scammers to your home, or worse, identity theft which could lay the blame at you for doing something you did not do but a criminal using a license plate that looks just like yours. No wonder google maps censors license plates for privacy reasons. If you want more information here, please read here.
    .
    Hopefully you get the point.

  • Final Version of my Grandpa's Semi is being Planned 3.2 years ago

I would highly urge and recommend that you please redact the license plate present in your pictures to prevent any risks associated with such. Do not use the same license plate in your builds either, as it can presents any risks mentioned before.
    .
    Good luck on your work.

  • Wut??? 3.2 years ago

All of the warships present in SimplePlanes have a hit box. While the helicopter may seem like floating, it’s actually landed and the hit box prevents the helicopter from going down any further and touch the deck of the ship. It’s a matter of cost and simplicity and a too detailed hit box may make the game too expensive and likely unplayable.

  • UW-13A 3.2 years ago

This plane is big and a good concept of a seaplane bomber but how can it work as a flying boat? There isn’t any window to the bottom of the seaplane and the hull is very oddly shaped with no outrigger floats for stabilization. The horizontal tail fins look too big. Turbojets or turbofans in pods are more practical than fighter jet engines with too tiny inlets, since the general aircraft shape does not appear to allow supersonic capability. The wings need to be thicker on the base than to the tips and even the bombs appear to be misplaced at various locations in the main wings and they seem to be more of adding useless weight that can rip a wing apart. Maybe put the bombs in the bomb bays inside main fuselage. Only thing that I like is the grayscale colors and cockpit being present in the plane.

make a airliner throttle like the ones on Boeing planes, using levers for throttle is so unrealistic

Or, just create more variations for the lever, like a lever with a ball knob or allow another attachment to the lever. As for now, use the grip and control base instead. I like your idea though.

Once you got into your account, please change your password to a stronger one. If you still cannot access your account despite your efforts, please send a request to discord under the “help and support”, and “hacked account” tags. Please note that moderators and administrators of servers may ban users who spam or send malicious links as these are detrimental to their servers and the user’s wellbeing; in fact, they have the right to ban whatever they wish.

    Woah!...
    .
I have not heard of this news before. It is likely he enthusiastically clicked on a malicious “free nitro” link, or invited the also malicious “free nitro” bot into a server of his. I also almost fell for that, since the bot had a verified tag, that makes it less suspicious; I’d thank the community for saving me though.
    .
Dllama4 also posted a forum post warning users not to click on the “funny links”, though he did not elaborate further.
    .
There is a chance that after his Dllama4 discord account was hacked, the Dllama4 account in simpleplanes.com could be hacked too.

The vehicle has a lot of sensors there, which is fitting for a drone. The bottom should be like the hull colors instead of black. Also, I think there should be amber turn signals, since this is a modern car.

  • What’s y’all’s favorite thing about SP? 3.3 years ago

Simpleplanes allows for multiplayer mod, in which I absolutely love (though I no longer participate in multiplayer mod frequently). The second thing I like is the fuselage and hollow fuselage and the ability to slice such. As for the glass fuselages there is a good thing that the back and front meshes disappear and won’t make the glass look, at least, “faux”. The game also have built-in guns and weapons. These are what SimpleRockets2, a game useful for building complex machines for it’s controls, lack.

  • Creative Commons Rules in SimplePlanes? 3.3 years ago

In this case, we use United States copyright law, since this is the most well known, apart from other copyright laws.
    .
United States Copyright law is confusing, therefore my opinions cannot guarantee support from lawyers, in which I am not part of.
    .
If a creation is original and creative, then it is automatically copyrighted. This image fits the criteria and the person using it in an unauthorized manner may have committed copyright infringement, however ownership is dubious as screenshots of games infringes the copyrights of the one who made said game (e.g. Jundroo).
    .
Most original code is copyrighted, however wether the successors are copyright infringement is dubious as while the rules state that successors are allowed, the Terms Of Use does not state wether it is eligible or not. It may be possible to add licenses as comments in the plane files, though I have not tested it. In the case of this one incident, wether it is copyright infringement or not is dubious, as in the case of this one, the ruling that a derivative sculpture is infringing is based because it is an infringing, non-fair use derivative of the original work. There are several sources, like the one that deals with rendering 3D models in one render sold to the public, and another case if one can render another’s work as a 3D model legally.
    .
In one incident, Jundroo reportedly has filed a takedown to a person who has used our builds for his 3D models as copyright infringement.
    .
On the other hand, there are more permissive websites that use various licenses. Images of pixel scale ships found in one site are licensed under CC-BY-NC, allowing literally everyone to use and remix those images, as long as they credit the original author, and not make any commercial use out of them. Wikimedia Commons has most images under CC-BY-SA, which is the same like CC-BY-NC, but while commercial use is allowed, you must post the image’s remixes, derivatives, etc under the same license.
    .
Please ask a lawyer for more information.

  • I Need Funky Tree Codes 3.3 years ago

I have created a basic autopilot with funky trees for use in some of my crafts. If you wonder how the autopilot system works, you have to understand these basic flight data functions.
    .
There is a flight data function named RollAngle (in degrees). You may notice how this is used in the roll indicator of the gauge. If an aircraft roll right, the indicator “needle” may roll right. Configure this into the ailerons and you will have a system where if the aircraft rolls, then the the ailerons automatically cause the aircraft to roll in the opposite direction. When the aircraft rolls in the other direction, the ailerons automatically act again to roll the aircraft in he opposite direction and the system flip flops and you get an aircraft that stabilizes it’s roll angle by itself. Note that the same can be applied to other flight data functions PitchAngle for the pitch angle and Heading for the heading (both also in degrees).
    .
I’ll give out a function from a code from one of my crafts:
    (RollAngle / 4) + (10 * Roll)
    Let’s see how this works:

    • The RollAngle function is what we already described before. However, do note that ailerons with this function may vibrate if you did not reduce the amount, hence why this function is divided by 4. Any more than 4 and the RollAngle function becomes less powerful and may affect how the aircraft stabilizes it’s roll angle by itself.
    • The Roll input counters the RollAngle function and will allow the aircraft to roll until a specific degree, provided that it has a given amount enough to counter the power of the RollAngle function (in this case, said Roll input is multiplied by 10).
    • The brackets are essential, because it prioritizes counting in the brackets first before counting the others (remember PEMDAS).

That is all I have got for you. Good luck. :)
