In the editor, place the view (not the gizmo camera, your editor view) inside the top of the nosecone where it meets the aesthetic cockpit. It should disappear from view, and you should see the flat part of one of the aesthetic cockpits. This is where you will put the cockpit block in. Well then, place it, and set it as primary, and you're done!

Let's say you bound that part to 1. While deactivated, it acts like a free hinge. When activated it locks and does not move. Nice idea.
