@ThatsAHotTopic What I'm trying to say is that it's 1 day too early to be possible, and should be on the 9th. I look forward to joining, but I'll be late to the party; I'll open the map around 4:30PM UTC on the 9th of June, and if anyone's there I'll continue
@ThatsAHotTopic UTC is 7 hours ahead. If you're going at 3PM on June 8th, 2020, then I will have to be present at 8am, June 8th 2020. Right now it is 10:33PM PST, June 8th, 2020.
@emili22 @wryy After some thinking and researching, I have decided not to attempt Android support on any mod type except for Map Plugins (I have none as of right now)
@ThatsAHotTopic
1) If you need help downloading/using the GIS pluginm, watch here until the 5 minute mark
2) Import your selected area- smaller = more detail. Add more subdivision modifiers for more detail heightmap wise- to a limit. I prefer to stay below 200k tris. Default GIS export is 6 subdivisions, but for Block 2 I cranked the center detailed terrain to 8 subs
3) Export your terrain as FBX
4) Export your terrain image using the UV editor
5) Make your simpleplanes map, import your FBX and texture terrain image into Assets
6) Add your terrain, don't touch it and it'll be scale 1:1
7) Drag your UV image over the terrain mesh
8) Add collider, map start(s), etc.
9) Done
@jamesPLANESii
1) That looks like a really good place to try! On the bucket list now
2) Can give me a more specific "focus point" for that area? (the focused area will be much more detailed that the surroundings)
@Aerofy @TrislandianAlliance @TheReturningHound With the GIS workflow I get barely passable textures from Google Maps. The largest I've gone is the Big Island in Hawaii, and while it is 1:1, each texture pixel is massive so you end up flying on a big blob of colors. The GIS plugin does have a limit for height data, not sure what it is, but it wouldn't let me heightmap Western Europe or NA.
A good use of textures in a similar sense to this would be the Pearl Harbor mod, which used an extremely detailed texture for the ground compared to what I get from the GIS workflow
The Earth Mod I believe is smaller than Earth, but uses height data and good textures.
@Planator9000 Sorry! It seems that after I added a failed updated version of the mod and removed it, there are no longer any downloads for the mod. Let me fix that for you.
@Planator9000 Normally, you should just be able to open the .spmod file and it will automatically be put in SP. If that doesn't work, you can use this guide to manually install them.
@ThePilotDude So I tried, and the results are about the same as NYC. You have to keep low altitude for good shots because the size of the city sample is about 11km x 7km.
@ThePilotDude 1) That sounds like a good idea
2) I'll try it and let you know. Cities are limited to Xkm x Xkm for me and the plugin due to the mass amounts of buildings, but terrain I've gone as large as the Big Island; making terrain bigger just makes the terrain less detailed
@Inuyasha8215 Thanks!

@Inuyasha8215 I always thought about that, but it seemed too hard to get something that would look good

Sure @AstleyIndustries Sounds good @Zoowarp Maybe it’ll work on 1,8, we’ll see@Homemade
Do you have a time machine or something? If I thought about this right 6/8 3pm would be 8am PST 6/8, which already happened
Aka “table”
ASU
Sounds good, whenever I can get something ready I’ll DM you @AstleyIndustries
@ThatsAHotTopic Yes; it should be registered.
Thanks- I found it and that will serve as for some good help @CRJ900Pilot
Beautiful!
+1What?
@emili22 @wryy After some thinking and researching, I have decided not to attempt Android support on any mod type except for Map Plugins (I have none as of right now)
@ThatsAHotTopic For me, it works on PC but not mobile.
Here's a backup link if photos don't work
@jamesPLANESii Sure; no XP11 guaranteed, but adding airstrips would be a good touch

@ThatsAHotTopic
Here you go!
@ThatsAHotTopic There's an error in the GIS heightmap data for K2 that causes a weird hole in the mountain. Have any other peaks?
Is this a roleplay, mod, or are you testing stock?
I plan on updating this regularly, and the huge Bismarck model makes building really slow, so no android for this one @TheAerospaceGeek
+2Yes, just create a water spawn. It’ll only battle as if it was a WW2 destroyer, but x7. @SkyCloudGaming
Maybe, whenever I have 1 hour to let SimplePlanes just idle load out of the designer I’ll try it. @EliteArsenals24
@emili22 @Shaini @brians1209 I'll see if I can build an android version; no idea if it'll work

@Planator9000 Thanks for the big help! Wouldn't work if there wasn't a download button

@AerobaticTeam2018 https://www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/1061965/Nukes-are-now-possible-No-Nuke-mod-required This solution is a pretty smart idea if you want some stock nukes.
@asteroidbook345 Yeah pretty much
@ThatsAHotTopic 11,000 + 17,600 = 28,600"
@ThatsAHotTopic Should be around 1:1, just that base camp (17,600') is 0'. I guess the atmospheric pressure is off though because of that.
Cool design!
I can’t remember, but were you on multiplayer flying this a couple hours ago? @blueangelproduction
+1Sorry mate, I won’t be available now, sometime later. @Frenchyfry
157.7.205.136
+3Use this one. Tell me when you do.
Thanks! @AWESOMENESS360
Thanks! @Tengam
+2Thanks! @jamesPLANESii
Nice cockpit!
Interesting...
+1The making of the ball was repetitive but bearable, but the worst was painting it, as it was very laggy.
No more than about an hour. @ACEPILOT109
Thanks! @ChallengerHellcat @tsampoy
Thanks! @Frenchyfry
