“This just became the very thing it was trying to eliminate.”

“Oh what the F-35? Hell nah.”

“And how?”

“Safety record.”

Following the unsuccessful purchases of the F-35Ds and F-35XS, SFA contractors became angry and pulled out from the program, and reviving the old SFA-FA-XX program. Basing the current 5th gen Aircrafts, and the ongoing aircraft utilization of the five major security branches of SFA, a unified plane with roles similar of the F-35 was put into place. Originally to be released last year, an unforeseen major technical issue was only spotted halfway through the project and has to be basically rebuilt from scratch. Upgraded tools and mechanical solutions wasn’t available until another four months, delaying and raising the money required, reaching record high 1.3 Trillion dollars. Almost the same as the F-35 program. The SFA had it harder because they are the only ones holding the project, making it the riskiest project they ever done.

The plane is Based on improving the FA-40 aircraft, which included 5th gen Stealth construction, multi mission capability, multi weather operable, supersonic, and high maneuverability for the standards of the Air Force, Marine, Navy, Mobile Task Forces, and the Experimental Divisions. All Divisions requires VTOL capability, High reliability, and Ease of Maintenance. The SCP Foundation was originally part of the Divisions but realizing their MTFs are already part of it, they don’t see the additional trouble of dedicating their resources to it as they can simply borrow some.

Construction of the prototype was completed on [REDACTED], Six months behind schedule. The results were impressive. The prototype achieved far better results than the computed and simulated results. The induced instability achieved high AoA at minimum velocity, even without the help of the TVC. Top performance of the engine gave the prototype a max speed of [REDACTED] Although the structural integrity was breaking down at this point which is the reason of the reduction of the speed down to 800-900 mph. The onboard Avionics gave the aircraft stability at almost stall speed and gave high stability in VTOL mode; Making it a more preferred option that CTOL and ST/VOL. For redundancy, the landing gears are still suited for Carrier operations and the addition of an arrestor hook.

Armaments are standard, as specified by all five divisions. A MK-201 High RPM 20 mm rotary cannon, six missiles, and two pylons for additional armaments. Of course, details of the missiles are Classified.

There are huge problems behind this aircraft. First is the lack of Reality Anchors. Which was supplemented by either entirely removing the weapons bay or attaching it to the pylons. The second is fuel capacity. Which was, again, either supplemented by removing the bay or on the pylons. The range of the aircraft is limited to about 300 miles. Which was less than the Acquired F-22 or other 4.5 gen Aircrafts currently in the SFA inventory. This limitation requires compromises. One is firepower limitation, second is Base compromise, and third is Area compromise. A fuel probe is attached to the left side of the aircraft to provide extension of operation by extensive mid air refueling.

I have another version with altered CoL positions. I used it for stability for some time ago before altering it to now. Would you like that version? @DualizedRain

I was just suggesting that functionality need a bit of improvement, that's all. Just some constructive criticism.

I know that SP doesn't have systems to make aircraft stable, That would be the point of building an aircraft in SP. If there is no system to stabilize your aircraft, and it flies well, then it is already a good aircraft.

@ColonelStriker ok then, I'm just used to responsive controls and smooth maneuverability on an aircraft I search for.
I get what you mean, but even virtual aircraft inside of a game at least should fly decent.
What I really meant was the actual response to the roll and pitch axes are not refined as well as I hoped. I test lots of designs before downloading and saving them on my computer, and that is one of the things I look for when it comes to maneuverability.

Beautiful. It feels familiar yet has its own lines at the same time

Most fighter aircraft are unstable. The on board computers on all of those aircrafts make it stable. Since SP doesn’t have those systems in place, you will feel the actual effects of instability utilized by them fighters @DualizedRain

The weapons system work fine, overall design is great. Only the functionality needs to be improved.

So, when I was flying this aircraft, what I noticed was that the overall control and stability reponse to be very unstable. Granted, this plane has some potential but, the pitch control is whack, roll control needs a bit of work, yaw control is fine, and the plane oscillates too much during flight.

I swear this plane just went overly complex when I was building it like the F-35. Originally, this plane was supposed to be a simpler 300 part plane @ThomasRoderick

@ColonelStriker Actually I doubt if F-22 would be more useful in its current role as an air-superiority fighter if it was an VTOL, but it is pretty much common knowledge that F-35 is, well... over-engineered, to say at least.

It is actually the inspiration. @ThomasRoderick I thought that the F-35 was mediocre, and the F-22 could’ve been more useful if it was VTOL capable. So that’s what I did
