First of all my thanks to RamboJutters “Red Top” missiles that add an authentic touch to this build. For the red top and more ordinance used by good ol’ Blighty please check out his weapons pack (and his work in general if you haven’t already!) Secondly, there are many modded parts I’ve collected as you just can’t create them on iOS so my thanks to all that post modded parts or recommend parts to use for a specific purpose. Believe me I’ve upvoted and I’m probably following your work!

Let’s pretend we never licence built the F4 and BACs proposal was accepted. An order for the ‘Sea Lightning’ was placed thus fulfilling the RNs Fleet Air defence interceptor role.

Several modifications were made to the existing Lightning design; most notably of which was the variable geometry wing offering better low speed characteristics whilst maintaining the blistering pace of the original. Landing gear was uprated and reconfigured to accommodate the punishment of carrier deck landings and the usual assortment of CATOBAR ops gear completed the aircraft.

Alas my friends, it never was....

VTOL moves flaps (which are a gimmick by the way with no real functionality)

Some notes on this build.
Wing functionality was completed before landing gear and I was loathed to meddle with the wings once I got it working just right and hence the wing bulges. I once accidentally adjusted a part and consequently stuck the whole wing together which took hours to get working again!
I’ve adopted an over wing as apposed to under wing fuelling arm as I didn’t like the proximity to the wing mounted missiles.
