I told him that in Mexico, you pronounce ‘J’ as ‘H’. I then asked him about the month he went there and he said July, but this time pronounced it as Huly!

@TheXDimension32 well, I've lived in the US for 4 years; for now I recognize 12000 English words but I still don't understand a thing whenever reading literature, lol. It still feels much better to read in chinese

Considering Chinese in theories of linguistics, one character always correspond to ONE syllable, and plus there is neither tense, gender, or singular/plural variations. So let's say you recognize 2000 characters, and you should be able to read pretty much everything. How is it difficult? lol
