Keene Traffic Safety Department (KTS) operates alongside the Keene Police Department. KTS officers are accredited LEOs with full law enforcement powers, and are also cross trained EMTs. KTS is the primary traffic enforcement agency in Keene, ensuring drivers in the city obey speed limits, traffic flow, and safe driving procedures. The agency also provides initial BLS care to vehicle accident victims, accident investigation services, and commercial vehicle enforcement, as well as reporting on road safety and making recommendations to city planning services to improve road safety as Keene strives to meet its goal of zero traffic fatalities.
