XF-14 Full Release

Welcome

to my first challenge.

Goal: Create a WW2 inspired modern Air Superiority Fighter. All planes will be put up against my XF14 AI variant. Dedicated bombers or support aircraft are encouraged, but may not score as high. I will spend about 2hours per submission on evaluation.

Rules:
1: Must be a successor post
2: XML modding is allowed, but must be with-in reason. IE no unlimited fuel, unrealistic weapons, infinite countermeasures ect.
2a: Mods are ok as long as they dont cheat.
3: Plane must take style notes from WW2 era aircraft. I would prefer propeller based, but jets will be allowed
4: All planes will be put up against op plane in dog fight, both piloted by AI, no missiles or extra fuel stores for this test. Just dog fighting.
5: Use of parts or weapons from op plane is allowed with-in reason.
6: Deadline is the end of August, I am flexible if you need more time.

I relased a new plane, mate. I hope you will enjoy it, I get a lot of fun flying this.

4 T1000 for a total of 4000 HP give the power to carry a lot of payloads, mix them as you prefer.

Consider the second one the real entry, if you can. If not, enjoy it as it is. :)

@Chancey21 @RamboJutter deadline is somewhat flexible, set for end of August as of now. There is a 20$ first prize, thats why its so in depth.

@RodWan woot if I remember I'll submit something, is it limited to 1 entry? When's the deadline?

Less stuff, just like five catagories scored 1-10 like this one@RodWan

@Chancey21 can you be more specific? It's less rules as much as scoring criteria. By no means do you have to follow everything to the tee, you could decide to max out a certain niche at the expense of another. I'm not expecting anyone to make a masterpiece in a month and like I said the timeline can be adjusted if need be. I spent almost a year on and off working on my design, kept coming back to it and improving things once I learned something new. The point was to try and make something equivalent in style and premise not get a perfect score, and it would largely be impossible to even get. I designed to scoring based on what the XF14 can do and it didn't get a perfect score so that should tell you something. Anyway, what were you wanting to be adjusted?

Cut back on rules and I’ll enter but to even qualify it will take me months @RodWan

@Tacocat16 I respect your decision, however. I disagree with the reasoning. If you need more experience then wouldn't it behoove you to participate in a challenge where your creation will be critiqued at a high level of scrutiny? That will give you good feedback to hone your skills. Either way thanks for the upvote ;)

    @FarrowTECH Rules have been updated.

@FarrowTECH What's your aversion on props anyway? Is there some reason your design needs to have a jet instead of a prop? The op plane has both. You could do something like use one for Vtol, or other creative ways to incorperate it. Eitherway I'm not expecting anyone to get full marks on this challenge, the categories are pretty diverce. If you focus in on a approparetly styled craft that uses jets I'll be fair. But if it looks like a F14 or F22 then that is a different style and not to focus of this challenge. It could still win though. It would only loose points on WW2 style category, just so we're clear.

@FarrowTECH thats based on it looking like a ww2 fighter or not. The grading criteria is listed, it needs to look like a plane of that time. If you can pull that off without a prop then fine. My view is that the jets in ww2 didn't look like the prop planes. The point is it needs to look like the prop planes not the jets.

@FarrowTECH I never said it didnt. Who are you arguing against? Use jets if you want, no one is stopping you.

@FarrowTECH the point is to have the old school feel to the planes but not restrict the technology. But I dont want modern-day looking planes. So we'll just say I'm open to discussing it.
