One of Paternia's primary heavylift trucks, the M30 is designed to supplement the lighter M33 2-1/2 Ton General Purpose Truck and the M4 1/2 Ton High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. It is often used alongside the similar M34 5 Ton General Purpose Truck, which is a cab-over variant of the M30. It shares many parts with the latter, and both form the backbone of the Paternian Army's truck fleet. Some trucks in the field have been converted into gun trucks in order to provide convoy protection, complete with additional armor plate and rapid-fire weapons. They were built to no standard pattern. The M30 was preferred over the M34 due to the conventional design's engine providing additional crew protection from the front, although both chassis were utilized.
