While the M35 was more accurate and longer-range as it was a rifled piece, the M90 was cheaper and could fire twice as fast and deliver a somewhat greater punch due to its larger caliber. A variant, known as the M90B, is found in the M1084 and M1070 mortar carriers, based on the M252 Thoroughbred and M125 APC, respectively.
