YF-24 was designed by Shoji Kawamori with "F-14 Tomcat", "Su-27 Flanker", "F-22 Raptor" as a motif.
YF-24 is a prototype of "VF-25 Messiah", "VF-27 Lucifer" and "YF-29 Durandal" which appear in Macross Frontier. And It is also a prototype of "VF-31 Chiros / Siegfried" and "YF-30 Cronous" that appeared in Macross Delta.
