Sorry about the grey space on the left as well as the poor image quality in the thumbnail. I'm still pretty new to making the custom thumbnails but i know what I did wrong and it will be fixed for my next project.
Also I forgot the Redcat Chimera was a thing when naming this, i knew there was something called the Chimera but i couldn't remember what lol

Enough with the sorry's, On to the build:

2020 Opal Chimera DB

This was just a short simple project, with its purpose being a fictional build that is built solely for its performance in SP rather than having a realistic counterpart. The dunes of Maywar is its home, and it performs exceptionally prerunning at extremely high speeds. It is made almost entirely of .25 beams, resembling the Little Bugger in its construction, making it strong and simple.

Features

Suspension: (No Control)
The suspension on this vehicle is its main highlight and its design is pretty unique. In the front there is a simple independent suspension, the main difference is that the springs do not extend above the upper wishbone onto a shock tower, but actually mount at the same place as where the upper wishbones mount to the frame. This increases front suspension travel exponentially as the spring does not need to compress much to allow the wheels to travel. It also compacts the suspension design so that the Chimera can stay sleek and aerodynamic.

In the rear, it uses a design similar to motorcycle suspension but on either side. I found the two simple links could not accommodate a solid axle so I removed it entirely. This created an unique independent setup. In real life the wheels would likely be powered by a belt or chain similar to a motorcycle on either side. The weakness of this system is that the independent sides make the vehicle sway significantly while turning, which is why the gyro is equipped. The springs are tilted in at an angle because I was initially going for an inline suspension style but quickly realized this would not work well as the risk of overextending was too high, and although the problem could be fixed by limiting the rotators, it seemed no more practical than a normal spring angle. I settled for this combination setup that still allows for the same travel along a short arm as the inline setup but the stability and control of a traditional angle.

Gyro: (Control: AG8)
Like many Opal builds, the gyro plays an important role in the vehicle's performance. For most regular driving, I recommend leaving the gyro on. It doesn't affect the vehicle's normal driving too much, but it will help control the vehicle when cornering, doing air time, or hitting a bump, as it prevents the vehicle from flipping over and landing on its top. However, you will want to turn this off mostly when going over a steep angle, either sidehilling or going straight up, as the gyro will try to make the vehicle parallel to the ground and will push you off the hill. Also if you want full control of the vehicle and have more realism, you can turn the gyro off, but note you are at a higher risk of flipping over.

Lights: (Control: AG1)
Not a lot to say about the lights. They just look cool in screenshots.

Downforce: (No control :) )
There are many wings throughout the vehicle: one large visible wing in the rear, one small wing in the front, and one wing in each wheel to create some extra droop. I don't think the wheel wings actually work but its a cool concept anyways. The downforce will pull you closer to the ground at higher speeds, improving handling, but watch out if you are going over a large bump because the reduced ground clearance can be a problem.

Air Brake: (Control: Brake)
Although the vehicle has immense amounts of downforce the airbrake can still be useful during air time, to both slow the vehicle in the air and bring it down easy. For example, when going over the ramp in Sky Park City, you will fly over the landing spot and have a rough landing if you dont apply the brake, but will land smoothly if you use the airbrake while in the air.

I know nobody even reads this so I should probably stop now.

Enjoy simpleplanesing!

@PapaKernels oh lol i was gonna say the same thing!
also i know the wheel bug is an issue and it happens to me sometimes and its because I put unrealistic traction on the wheels (500%) to help it with big hill climbs and have better braking. You can play with all the slip adjustments if you want (I don't understand them myself) but an alternative is to just lower forward traction to 150% and it will perform just as well as before, just unable to climb giant hills unrealistically. To be honest I'm not sure why I kept the traction so high while knowing this bug. Sorry for all the trouble.

Awesome build however her suspension has too much travel for what she needs! Which is really dangerous for jumps. Not much of a problem though, overall it’s a really nice build :)

I love the build but on my end I have a major bug where when I spawn it in the build the wheels are spinning and it's not moving and I tried everything to fix it and nothing worked. I'm probably the only one who has this issue but i just wanted to say it just incase someone else has the same problem
