Encyclopedia Entry: T-92 Main Battle Tank Family
The T-92 is a modern Russian main battle tank designed as an evolution of the iconic T-72/T-80/T-90 family, with key advancements aimed at correcting long-standing design limitations. Developed to replace or complement older MBTs, the T-92 incorporates state-of-the-art systems while retaining the proven combat effectiveness of its predecessors.
General Characteristics:
Weight: 53 tonnes (unloaded)
Engine: 1200 hp diesel engine
Top Speed (Forward): 65 km/h
Top Speed (Reverse): 30 km/h
Crew: 3 (Commander, Gunner, Driver)
Armament:
Main Gun: 125mm smoothbore cannon (modified from T-90M's design, with identical ballistic performance)
Ammunition Handling System:
Revolving drum autoloader located at the rear of the turret
6-round drum reloadable from two secure ammo racks (20 shells each)

Here is the short English version:
T-92 Prototype: Object 775 "Barsuk"
The Object 775 "Barsuk" (Russian for "badger") was the prototype that led to the development of the T-92 main battle tank. Designed by Uralvagonzavod between 2001 and 2012, it aimed to fix key flaws of previous Russian tanks like the T-72, T-80, and T-90 — especially the vulnerable autoloader, slow reverse speed, and lack of modern fire control systems.
The Barsuk featured a 6-round drum autoloader placed at the rear of the turret, a 1200 hp diesel engine, and an elongated chassis based on the T-90. After several improvements, the design was approved in 2012 and officially became the T-92, combining modern capability with classic Russian tank design.
The T-92 is a formidable modern tank, designed to uphold Russia's armored dominance. It offers significant upgrades over previous generations while maintaining a traditional design ethos. The modular structure and smart loading system reflect a shift towards more adaptable and crew-friendly MBTs in modern warfare
