M-17A3 87W Logan

Hello everyone! After a week of absence, I’m back (though I guess it’s not really that important). Anyway, I’m here to present my new tank! I had a lot of fun designing it—it was super enjoyable. Plus, it’s my first tank not set in the post-70s era, because this time I made a World War II tank.

It’s an American tank, since I’ve already created three tanks for a fictional country and two for France—yes, two, not one! So I decided to go with an American design this time. I tried to stick to the style of American WWII tanks. I also aimed to make it as accurate as possible, though I did forget to include HE rounds… I know, silly me—sorry about that!

Now for the lore:
first design I drew:

Yes, that's how all my creations begin, apart from Leclerc TvT
It's just to capture the idea after I add more details

The M17A3 87w Logan gets its name from its 87mm calibre and “Logan,” named after a famous American general (like the Sherman tank). It was introduced in November 1943 as a direct response to the Tiger I and the newly introduced Panther, since the Shermans were no longer strong enough to disable them effectively.

The Logan featured massive sloped armour of 95mm at 61 degrees, which provided the equivalent of 195mm of effective protection. It was armed with a long 87mm gun, giving it the firepower to take on any beast the German Reich might unleash against the US and Allied forces.

Powered by an 850 hp engine, it had a power-to-weight ratio of 17.5 hp/ton, which was excellent for the time. Its 87mm gun was exceptional, and aside from the Panther, no German tank up until the Tiger II could withstand its firepower at ranges under 1.5 km. Designed specifically to counter the Tiger I and Panther, it was a brilliant tank—but only 4,000 units were produced between 1943 and 1947

    Cool tank
And also when viewed from the side it looks like a tank with a Panther hull and a Tiger II (P) turret.
