What if Squirrel Industries and Steadfast Contracting were to merge into one company and build an aircraft that could outperform most others on the site? Then you’re probably looking at this; the Steadfast Industries Squirrel Contracting 1 or SISC-1. How is this a joint project then? Well, officially, it isn’t. But, I nicked off with a load of features from Steadfast’s planes, so what are they?

- For a start, the long nose and part of the cockpit section are reminiscent of some of Steadfast’s builds
- The multiple sets of wings with a different sweep gradient at the roots are also typical of a Steadfast build
- The rudder section which is offset part way is also a typical feature
- Also, the elevator style can be found on many of Steadfast’s fighter jets
- The canards style on the aircraft was inspired by Steadfast’s “Yeti Runner”
- Activator 1 is also assigned for increased performance, just like on some of Steadfast’s builds

Squirrel Industries however also chipped in by creating the general fuselage layout, Raven engines and engine placement, Falcon guns, part of the cockpit and the use of Squirrel Industries lighter than air materials.

The SISC-1 is a high performance fighter, capable of carrying a number of weapons on its 10 hardpoints, failing that, the SISC-1 (as mentioned above) is fitted with high performance Falcon guns, which are superior to their stock counterparts.

The SISC-1 is also fitted with a variant of the Raven X-2 engines, which increase efficiency, overall thrust and acceleration. So out pacing/accelerating an opponent should be fairly easy in combat. Activator 1 also helps give the SISC-1 an advantage in WVR combat, allowing for tighter turns.

As a side note, thanks again to Steadfast for building a tribute aircraft for me. It was a very pleasant surprise and I encourage anyone to have a look at their stuff, because there’s some great little gems amongst the builds.

The next build (not sure when it will be out) should be another tribute, but to SimpleTechAndReasearch, so taking the time to recreate a modernised ES-1, aka the first ever ES aircraft built. But until then, Happy flying!
