Pierce Arrow XT Rear-Mount quint
Agency: Keene Public Safety - Keen Fire Department
Livery: KFD Fleet colors

A modern hybrid of fire engine and fire truck, quints are five function fire apparatus which carry a pump, water tank, fire hoses, ground ladders, and an aerial device. Quints give both suppression and vertical access capabilities in one vehicle, which is ideal for the tighter historical streets and university campus in the city of Keene. Additionally, instead of staffing a separate engine and ladder, a quint lets one company handle both roles, all while supporting Keene's Vision Zero-aligned response model by reducing unnecessary apparatus movement. Fleet numbers, and thus costs, are reduced, but this does put some more strain on vehicles, crews, and maintenance personnel.
