@Pilotmario The lack of German OEM parts meant that Japan had to forge some parts themselves, but their metallurgy wasn't up to the specifications that was needed for quality ME-163 fighters.

Actually, it was parts availability that plagued them. Not all the parts the Germans sent to Japan made it. @Jackie

@Pilotmario If we get to the Japanese version, I'm sure craftsmanship would begin to come into play.

@Jackie Yeah. IRL those things had an astonishingly high accident rate, though that was mostly down to the engine and the volatile fuels.

@Pilotmario Wouldn't I know that, the only plane I own with no tail is the one I spent the most time tweaking. I never understood how hard ME-163 replicas were up until that point.

@Jackie Do whatever you feel like! It took a lot of tries to get the tail at the right length.

@Pilotmario I find my tails are build more for stability, and I find myself surrendering speed and agility for a smooth flyer. I really should follow your example and cut back the lengths.

@Jackie, just remember, if it works, don't fix it. Think your tail sections are too long? If it flies to your satisfaction, then it's fine, you've got farther than most people.

Very nice plane, high speed with great maneuverability. Makes all my planes look like their tails are too long, perhaps they are...
