“An overlooked technology is the Gauss Gun. They made the railgun, we made the coil gun. A bit of persuation and you’ll get pretty much the same kick with less technical mumbo jumbo.”

“But what is the (non literal) cost?”

“Everything.”

—————[ E Q U I P M E N T S U M M A R Y ]—————

Based on the XH-10 Hull, the technology demonstrator XMT-11 Echo (Eco) is a derivative of the tank in the most recent modernization program XMT-10 Endurance. This tank is a 140mm Smoothbore Coilgun mounted on a crewless turret featuring the large RXWS and APS with dual communication and tactical network antenna. The tank has almost the same characteristics of the XMT-10 but with major hindrances to achieve the required Mach 7 velocity of the coilgun.

The tank features the same engine layout and turret ring configuration but the hull has to be modified to accommodate three crew members; Driver, Gunner, Commander. Each one can control the entire tank remotely with ease due to the quadruple redundant systems installed inspired by the Swedish STRV Tanks.

Due to the coilgun system, there is no need for a blowout panel and is replaced by an efficient autoloader capable of firing every two (2) seconds. Recorded muzzle velocities reaches 9026.5 kph or almost Mach 7. The same result as the US Navy’s railgun prototype. The coilgun system launches the HX-2038 High Explosive Squash Head/Deep Armor Penetrator (HESH/DAP), a combination of the famous HESH shells of the British 183mm gun and the APFSDS round. This provides both the large soft target kill radius and great spalling and penetration for armored targets. This plus the Mach 7 speed provides a flat trajectory ensuring accuracy of greater of five (5) kilometers, a larger operating radius compared to any other main battle tank in service. The operation is also quiet, the only audible sound when firing is the discharge of the initial pusher gas commonly described as “letting some gas off from a compressor.” Due to these characteristics and the crew’s desired tacticas, The tank is officially specified as a tank destroyer

Trials showed major disadvantages of the tank including turning off every other electrical system other than the gun sights to provide power for the gun, and the limited degree of elevation and depression of a combined twenty five (25) degrees. The tank also has to turn off the Gyroscopic stabilization unit and the ready fire unit when on the move to allow sufficient electrical energy to be provided to other components as the ready fire unit wastes a lot of energy.

Time and effort. And some game physics manipulation.@CrazySniper3000 for the tracks, I’ve used a newer version of my prototype here

For some odd reason, I really like the way this looks. And it's very rare that I like a futuristic looking piece of equipment :D

    @ColonelStriker thanks.

And one more thing; that turret looks like the turret of the FV214 Conqueror (which is one of my favorite heavy tanks).

@ColonelStriker Yeah, it is unfortunate that sonic booms are not a part of SP's physics. Although if this tank were to be built IRL, one would think the gun would not be entirely silent. Unless the projectile somehow is designed to mitigate sonic booms. Nevertheless, this really is a nice tank. It has a very futuristic look to it.

Unfortunately I cannot due to not knowing how. But they are monochromatic in nature; two ticks away from a neutral color. (Example: gray as primary color, two ticks higher= lighter gray, two ticks lower= darker gray)
    .
Except for the black/yellow hazard stripes @Abhishek700

The game’s physics as far as I know cannot generate them sonic booms @KerlonceauxIndustries but it would be feckin awesome if it did

    Awesome build

Can you give me the color codes

It is very nice, but wouldn't the projectile generate a sonic boom of some sort since it's traveling at around 7 times the speed of sound?

There are no other XMTs in the successors tab. @DeathStalker627
    .
Even if that’s the case, it’s only a name. The same way there are two T-50s; the russian fifth gen Fighter and the S.Korean trainer “Talon”
