Originally the sister ship of Ramiel , her construction was halted when a series of defects were found on Ramiel . Her bow and stern was revised and also come with increased draft and beam to improve the sea-going quality of the ship. She was commissioned in 1946, as the last destroyer flotilla leader. She was equipped with new DP guns, fire control system 90mm flak gun and torpedo tubes.
