The Zarya ZAI-125-100 is a stretched version of the ZAI-125 short-haul regional aircraft, designed for enhanced passenger capacity and efficiency. It maintains the core design principles of the ZAI-125, including its efficient and comfortable passenger transport capabilities. The aircraft's aerodynamic layout incorporates a traditional wing configuration and a distinctive T-tail empennage for enhanced stability and control. To accommodate the increased size and payload, the ZAI-125-100 features an additional ZTT TF-240 turbofan engine mounted in the tail section, augmenting the two existing engines which are mounted on pylons directly to the fuselage—a design choice commonly seen in business jets, which helps to reduce noise and vibration within the cabin. The aircraft features a tricycle landing gear system with a steerable nose wheel for improved maneuverability on the ground.
