"Vitiator"

Congrats, thanks to the P-84A, you just learned a new word today.

Erm, not exactly, actually...

"Vitiator" isn't a word, but it heavily derives from a real word, that being "vitiate," meaning to "spoil or impair the quality or efficiency of" (source Google Dictionary). This is in fact what the P-84 specializes in. Dual engines give it speed. A strong airframe enables its agility. Its armor is average (which isn't a surprise, since it wouldn't be average if it was rare). But those guns... 38 guns worth of raw firepower. This may seem ridiculous, and it is, but balancing does exist in FSF (unless you're the A2R5), so here's the catch: these guns are each 5mm.

Yep, you don't even get the low 7.62mm caliber on these guns. Each gun on the Vitiator is a solid 5mm. This might seem like a bad thing, but trust me, great fire rate combined with the high performance of the plane and sheer amount of guns will still allow you to shred apart enemies, just a lot more slowly and painfully than you'd get with other fighters.

Trivia

-The Vitiatior is the 7th FSF plane.
-I got the P-84A's nickname by looking up "synonyms of 'destroy,'" because I thought it would be funny for the plane with the lowest gun caliber to have the most intimidating nickname (or at least most intimidating nickname meaning). Either way, it is definitely better than Papercut (what it was named before Vitiator).
-The P-84 sports pods on its wings similar to those one may find on the F4U or F6F, but these aren't radar pods; they're extra ammo. Same case with the reinforcements at the wing root, most of the wings, and the entire front half of the plane. Yeah, this thing is just a flying ammo magazine more so than a fighter plane.
-If any FSF knows something about cutting it close, it's this guy. He almost didn't make it into the FSF Teaser Post (and thus FSF Phase 1), but I finished him and got a screenshot just in time for him to make it into the teaser and arrive with the first wave of his FSF brethren. The MuG-2 and Tracer weren't as lucky though, and will be delayed until Phase 2 (you'll meet them in the Phase 2 teaser).

    @TheUltimatePlaneLover alright uhhhh
    Tomorrow
    Fun fact AIM-4s are the first air to air missile, being developed in 1946 and tested 1949. Should I?

    1. Yesn't: A later version produced by the original company, dubbed P-84F does defeat the gun issue, as well as officially add ground strike capabilities (there's an unreleased P-84A version with effective ground strike power, but said weapons were literally just strapped on in a pinch for "Operation Cryogen," which I'll explain later). However, I can include you in the official "lore" for the P-84F.

    2. Yes, 7.7mm sadly lol. But still, not as small as the Strikemaster's 7.62mm guns, and absolutely massive against the Vitiator's 5mms. But from the aspect of it being War Thunder, combined with pretty much all later japanese planes having either 12.7mms (.50 cal) and 20mms, all of the above are pretty small lol

    @TheUltimatePlaneLover i just tested the Ki-10 (i was in warthunder)

    @TheUltimatePlaneLover can i make a license built model that deals with the gun issue?

    @Boeing727200F Yeah, the Vitiator reminds me of my first impressions of the Ki-10 in War Thunder, and I quote:
    "This is the best plane with the worst guns in this whole game."
    -Me, around July/August 2024

    Unlike the Ki-10, though, the Vitiator makes up for dreadful(ly low) gun power in the form of ridiculous(ly high) gun quantity. If you can get a nice, long burst on your enemy, they'll collapse eventually. Of course, though, the only issue with that is that you're probably not gonna get that chance in a dogfight against any capable opponent lol

    TL;DR:
    Either way you did the right thing, the Vitiator's airframe is absolutely fantastic but its guns suck lol

    @Boeing727200F Both actually:
    One of the first Phase 2 planes, the Warhead, features both, sporting guided rockets and 20mm cannons. There's also planes like the Airafang with its 37mm cannons, or the Skirmisher with some pretty good missiles.

    @LoganAviation Fairly Simple Fighters.

    @Boeing727200F Phase 2 is just the second set of FSF aircraft set to be released, as I'll be doing FSF in phases. However, each phase will aim to introduce something new to the table, as well as build on the old.
