In the year 1961, the USAF needed a superiority fighter that could take out ground troops, and take out aerial forces as well. In the end, the USAF decided to create this beast of a plane.
Tri-turbojet plane with arresting hook, folding wings, and a lot of weapons. Specifically designed to take out Russian planes or Vietnamese forces in the case of attack. This plane was very successful, but was taken out of commission when the new F-15 Eagle came out (1972).
Fully loaded top speed at sea level: 800 mph-ish
No weapons or fuel tanks top speed at sea level: 1200 mph-ish

Weapons:

• 3 AN/M3 20mm autocannons (basic shell, multirole; 190 rounds each)
• 2 35mm autocannons (explosive shell, ground; 50 rounds each)
• 2 AIM-9b "Sidewinder" missiles (thanks to @mikoyanster)
• 2 1,000 pound bombs
• 2 7-rocket pods (1.5 times length)

Controls:

AG1= Drop Tanks
AG2= Activates Rotators for wings (up on VTOL)
AG3= Arresting hook and landing light
AG4= Drogue Chute
Trim= Flaps and Trim
