The Umbra Mk4D Fennic is an MBT originally ordered in 1999, which ended up delayed to 2000, and then finally produced in 2002, before being sent to the ESGDF in October. Despite the unfortunate development cycle, the original Mk4A worked really well in the interests of Exeron, however, the original turret was a lot more lackluster. In December of 2002, the ESGDF ordered the Mk4C upgrade package, which saw a complete rebuild of the turret to house the more modern Umbra U125A Cannon, as opposed to the original 100mm cannon which was taken from the Nosewise series. However, the U125A proved very lackluster for Exeron, and the Mk4C was never purchased, but the ESGDF told Umbra to return to the drawing board. Finally, in July of 2003, Umbra revealed the Mk4D package. Featuring the new RESCIND-2 ERA package, PlzDon't Soft-Kill APS, and a 155mm cannon, the ESGDF gladly adopted the Mk4D.
