When the Intruder War began, The Republic of Accilia watched this new threat carefully, doing minor acts to help the war effort, such as providing fuel, bases, and other assorted commodities. Accilia then decided to openly join the war after the intense battle of Operation: Southern Sea. Around a dozen Accilian Air Force aircraft were diverted to general air defense of captured territories, seeing limited combat in this role.
One of such squadrons was Griffon Team, a unit of former aerobatics pilots that were pushed into combat flying as the war intensified. Their main aircraft was the F-44A, and later the classified Project 8117.
However, as direct conflict drew near, Accilia directly aligned itself with A.A.I. in order for better coordination on the battlefield. Griffon Team was then given a total of four F-14A+s from A.A.I., and they were swiftly brought back to Accilia for refitting and updating.
The aircraft scrapped the traditional stationary tail fins, and mounted them on two pods placed at the wingtips. These pods are actually ripped straight from Griffon Team's old F-44As, and were fitted with four experimental rapid fire laser cannons. Also added, was minor wing adjustments (I don't know I have a thing for Anhedral wings) and another prototype weapon, an attempt at replicating Grunder Industries' Electromagnetic Launcher. This EML has good range, however the firing arc is extremely limited. The laser cannons fire very quickly, but like most direct fire weapons, their effectiveness is limited to closer ranges.
The F-14Acc is generally tuned for close range dogfighting, something which Griffon team has much experience in, being Aerobatics pilots.
After, Griffon Team, as well as Osprey Team, Falcon Team and Kestrel Team, were sent out onboard the A.A.S Stormbird, one of Accilia's two Erne-Class Carriers, to be assigned as needed by A.A.I.
This particular plane is flown by the squadron's commanding officer, Griffon-1, who's name is Jason Phoenix (Callsign Crosswind).
Notes:
-I liked the exhaust color, so I kept it.
-The cannons are a standard for my near-future builds
-The EML carries 15 AA shells, with kill cam.
-Please don't pitch down on the ground, the tail fins drag when doing so.
-The double tail should give better turning, but when doing so, do so 180 degrees at a time, or else the plane does a barrel roll.

To be fair, this was the first submission, and as I said earlier in the comments section:

Ngl I like the looks of the OG B better but it’s probably just me. It’s an amazing build and very very creative and I know I’m not going to win. So good luck m8, tho this VTOL Bobcat might beat you bc it’s so...well... Mech and it’s also got a drone now

@EngineerOtaku Well, it was inspired a little bit from Ace Combat, which really isn't a true anime, but has similar character and plot characteristics, and as I said in the description; I just ripped some parts from another plane and slapped it on :D As for the low part count, 99 percent of all of my builds are below 200 parts.

Now THIS is an interesting reimagining of my F-14. :) Gives off anime-like superplane vibes, and it's low part count too. I'll have to try it out.

@DarkMarble1 teehee! I'm so happy you like this plane! I tried to make the EML not overpowered... I dont know how successful I was at that as cause... I had not performance benchmark XD. I tried to give it a little bit of individuality with something (Im not even sure if) Im known for, the F-44's pods!

Nice work, especially the lore, i love it all. Sadly since this is a challenge, i can't immediatly upvote it like i want badly. i want to see what others create. But to let you know, you have a mega head-start, this plane looks amazing. I can't put it into words
