COMAC ARJ21, scientific research code ARJ21 (written as "Advanced Regional Jet", that is, "21st Century New Generation Regional Jet"), is a new turbofan regional jet developed by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. The name "Xiangfeng" was obtained through public solicitation.
The ARJ21 is designed with four different types, and the passenger type can have 78-90 seats. The ARJ21 project was approved by the State Council in April 2002 and started to develop. The ARJ21 completed its maiden flight at Shanghai Dachang Airport on November 28, 2008, and was transferred to the China Flight Test Institute for a full-scale test flight on July 15, 2009. After five years of intensive testing, on December 30, 2014, ARJ21-700 obtained the Type Certificate of Conformity issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China -wikipedia
