Description

The AH-54 Death Eagle is a large Multirole Attack Helicopter developed by the Volksian Aircraft Development Corporation for a request by the Volksian Air Corps.

Design

The request by the Volksian Air Corps to create a new heli arrived at the VADC Office in early 1985 with the Classifications to carry 12,000lbs of weapons and a fully equipped squad.

So VADC came up with 2 proposals which was split among 2 build teams with team 2 finishing a week after the AH-55 Charger with the AH-54 Death Eagle.

The AH-54 Death Eagle featured the same engine as the AH-55 Charger but with a different gearbox and a fenestron tail rotor, 6 weapon stations, side gunner positions, interior seating for 14 passengers + 2 gunners or 10 stretchers, armored bathtub capable of withstanding 23mm autocannon fire for the pilots, a service ceiling of 32,000ft, and a top speed of 200mph.
