R2-11A Cyprus

A behemoth, the R2-11A Cyprus was designed to carry out low-level strikes on ground units for hours at a time. Designed in the late 2020’s, the R2-11A had a vast and unmatched array of weaponry to go along with its incredibly thick armour. The unethical wing placement was designed to increase durability and low-level handling. It’s only weak spot was it’s exposed engine, so pilots generally tried to avoid showing their rear to the enemy.

Controls

AG 1 (VTOL + Trim) 12.7mm Top Turret
AG 2 (VTOL + Trim) 25mm Chin Turret
AG 3 (VTOL + Trim) Side 105mm and 30mm Ground Attack Cannon movement - Open Bomb Bay
AG 4 (VTOL + Trim) Side 105mm and 30mm Ground Attack Cannon activation

Control Notes

  • Take into account the large turning radius when manoeuvring
  • Don’t allow enemy fire to make contact with the rear jet
  • Engage with enemy ground units in long range or side attacks to prevent engine damage

As far as my research went all of the rear winged aircraft I looked at had this type of landing gear configuration. @RamboJutter

I did delete the old one because it was broken. @ThePilotDude

Now I can’t get this to run cos my iPad crashes. I’ll try my PC later. Anyway, I think the landing gear positioning is not much of an issue since it is a canard configuration. Canards pitch up by increasing lift at the front. A standard aircraft pitches up by decreasing lift. It isn’t ideal to have landing gear like this, but it can definitely work fine. Again, I haven’t tested it yet @RamboJutter @BogdanX

Did you remove the old one? If not, then you should probably provide a link

@Rodrigo110 bogdan is correct though, the point of the landing gear being just behind the c of g is so that it doesn't tip over backwards but allows for easy rotation at the correct speed, your build exacerbates the issue by having paired wheels. After saying all that, I still like the look of your build and fully understand wanting to position the wheels where you have, and as it's a game it lets you "cheat" on things like this :) if you have a look at my javelin (which is compatible due to being a delta) you can see the wheel positions, why not do a mkii version with a delta rear wing and more forward gear position for comparison?

I understand, but I did some research on these types of aircraft, (rear winged aircraft) and apparently this landing gear provides the most stability (as long as it’s got a decent width at the rear). This is especially evident in such heavy aircraft, as the landing gear wouldn’t be able to support the whole weight or provide the correct amount of width at the CoM. Most rear wing aircraft have this LG configuration. @BogdanX
