SCP-512 "Saabsen"

47.8k Phantomium  6.6 years ago

Sorry for uploading it during the beta. I just couldn't delay it for any longer. This was supposed to be ready 3 days ago but, due to me slowly losing motivation and playing anything but SP, I could only finish it today. I'll reupload it unlisted as soon as the beta is over, though, don't worry!

Controls
* As usual, Pitch+Roll+Yaw to steer it. Yaw also works on the runway but only up to around 60 mph (duh, lazy me had to use stock landing gear...)
* AG1 to drop the fuel tanks.
* AG2 to deploy the landing chute.
*VTOL for flaps. It's recommended you use it during takeoff/landing.

Description
*

  • Item #: 512

  • Object Class: Euclid

  • Special Containment Procedures: SCP-512 is to be kept inside a large hangar that's constantly receiving a flow of fresh air. It only needs maintenance once a month to assure that the engine and the armament are still working. While entering the containment area, workers are advised to wear protection glasses and bring with them a bucket of water. SCP-512 is known for suddenly starting its engine and, thus, any worker that stands near it may catch on fire. A short visit during the weekend is mandatory in order to make sure the aircraft is still inside.

  • Description: SCP-512 was found in an abandoned Ikea store near __, in Sweden on _,_,1993. Ever since then, the aircraft has been placed in a hangar and locked away. Upon discovery, the workers that found it reported hearing a continuous hum noise as they approached the aircraft. No one knows how the aircraft got there in the Ikea store.
The subject exhibits physical properties similar to those of the Saab S32 Lansen, thus leading personnel (and later the security staff) to nickname it "Saabsen". It still differs a lot from the average Lansen in that the aircraft acts on its own. It doesn't need any sort of fuel and replenishes its ammo when needed by itself. Mysteriously, the subject reacts negatively when called Lansen.
To help identify the aircraft, personnel have painted the SCP roundel on the underside of its wings. On the upperside, it still retains the Svenska Flygvapnet roundel.

  • Reference: To date, the subject has been known to be extremely unpredictable. During security breaches, the aircraft has somehow managed to escape from the hangar and take off to the skies. It has, on several occasions, helped the compound's military staff to neutralize escapees but, on other occasions, it has also opened fire on them. Any attempts to neutralize the aircraft's armament have failed. In total, 30 personnel were killed by the plane.

Nice, reminds me of the Lansen, an older, but very good-looking bird. Also, very creative camo, I’m going to tag this as a favorite because I’ll need to remember how to do that on my next build!

@Othawne Glad to hear so :)
I thought of the Lansen as being one of the most badass looking jets Sweden has ever made and I couldn't waste this occasion to merge two great things into one.
