In 2035, the THI needed a trainer that taught people how to fly VTOL. Though, it also needed to be capable of being put through war if necessary. This was the basic design they came up with. It was better than the other contestants, and it was easier for the pilots (who survived) to fly.
It can take off in VTOL mode with 17% thrust (use the control nozzles to help) and then you can fly. It is unstable, but it is a prototype.
Capable of landing on a Carrier with either STOL or VTOL, as well as taking off regularly with STOL or VTOL, this plane has many capabilities. It also is stocked with weapons and is capable of ~800 mph at sea level.

Warning, though. The Pitch is extremely touchy and can cause you to stall and crash. If you take off in VTOL with too much thrust, you stall and crash. You want the nose to point down when it takes off in VTOL so that when you deactivate 1 the nose pitches up as the plane gains forward momentum.
