@GG001213 OK, but give Russia at least second stage successor points (2 points per upvote) for the wing design =). I don't doubt the greatness of the Y-20, but to me, it still resembles Il-76.

@EternalDarkness Ha,Y-20 is slightly bigger than Il-76.The payload of IL-76MD is 48ton but Y-20 is 66ton.Actually the vertical tail is like C-17's but not IL-76's.We changed the electronics.
Anyway,this is a milestone in our Chinese aircraft sector.

@Mr_6371 if you find a comparison picture, you will notice that the wings are almost exactly the same, the tail is just smoother version of Il76's tail, they are almost exactly the same size (I'm not sure about that one, they look the same size in the picture I stumbled upon, I only compared them visually), and so on. I don't doubt that it's a significant improvement, but those two planes look too much alike for it to be a coincidence. Greatest visible difference is the nose, that was completely redesigned, landing gear having smaller number of bigger wheels, and most of the rough Soviet lines being smoothed.

@EternalDarkness Y-20 is a transport aircraft which is developed autonomously by China,rather than a ‘ripoff’.Y-20 gets plenty of differences from il-76!
