ASH-34 Dragonfly

Background

Versatility is a vital aspect of any military. The ability to operate from anywhere at anytime is key to having a strategic advantage against the enemy, especially in the dense jungles of the archipelagic nation of Indonesia. However, versatility is nothing if it can’t make a dent in the enemies’ defences. In the battle field, combining both versatility and firepower is necessary to achieve victory.

The ASH-34 was designed by the ADS Enterprises to be a VTOL, heavy attack aircraft. A frontline combatant capable of taking off from any terrain, fitting with the requirement of the Indonesian military. Its design is unique, sporting large wings typical of an attack aircraft but with 2 rotors on each wing tip with enough power to lift it with over 2 tons of armaments. Its unique design gave military officials a hard time, as it resembled both a plane and a helicopter, but not enough to be designated as either one.

On its first combat debut, the troops were in awe as the ASH-34 flew overhead and delivered a devastating blow to the enemy line. It quickly became a favorite amongst helicopter pilots due to its speed and sheer firepower. Its resemblance to the four-winged, long-tailed insect soon earned it its nickname, “Dragonfly”.

Armaments

1x 50mm 3-barreled rotary cannon

ASH34-4.gif
Amongst its arsenal of weapons, the ASH-34 is equipped with a 50mm 3-barreled rotary cannon, firing at a rate of 1000rpm, it can deliver a deadly blow in a snap. The cannon is complimented with a toggle-able horizontal targeting system, reducing the pilot’s work load.

4x 30mm 6-barreled rotary cannon

In addition to the 50mm, the ASH-34 is also complimented with four 30mm cannons. Firing at 6000rpm, it can shred even armored adversaries within seconds.

4x Hunter-34 AARM

The Hunter-34 is an Air to Air Radar-guided Missile (AARM), making the ASH-34 not only deadly against surface targets, but against air targets as well. It has a maximum targeting range of 30km, and can fly at a speed of mach 2.4. The radar-guidance system means that it is a Fire-And-Forget, allowing pilots to focus on multiple targets at once.

12x Badger-33 ASIRM

ASH34-5.gif
The Badger-33 is an Air to Surface Infra-Red-guided Missile (ASIRM), the crown-jewel of the ASH-34. It has a maximum targeting range of 10km, and flies at a speed of mach 2. It gives pilots access to heavy fire-power against surface targets, and the advanced target-imaging system in the missile means that once fired, the missile won’t miss its target.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: I have found a slight issue with the launch delay of the internal missile, when firing, make sure the aircraft is not tilting left or right, as you might explode.

96x Javelin-1 Rockets

To add just a bit more punch, the ASH-34 is completed with 4 rocket pods, giving it a total of 96 Javelin-1 rockets to fire against surface targets with medium accuracy, but deadly firepower. With that many rockets, taking out tanks, armored-vehicles, ships or even bunkers will be as easy as squashing a soda can.

Controls

Activate1: Toggle Cannon Horizontal Targeting
Activate7: Toggle Gyroscope
Activate8: Toggle rotor controls
Throttle: Rotor Power & Pitch
Everything else is normal flight controls

Flight Instructions

Please note that the controls are very responsive, small movements with your cursor is enough to make the plane maneuver.

Take-off using throttle controls, note that 50% throttle is enough to lift you up. Use pitch & roll controls to move, pitch down to lean forward and pitch up to lean backwards, roll is normal.

For landing, set throttle to 20-25% and you will slowly descend. This aircraft is also capable of automatic landing, simply set throttle to 25% and click 7 to activate gyro.
