The Navis Class frigate serves as the replacement of the Perdition-Class cruiser in the role of sector patrol. The Navis is specifically built for anti-piracy operations, where its speed, firepower and powerful sensor arrays and navigation systems are more than enough for locating, outrunning and outgunning any pirate ship that comes its way. It is also equipped with point defense lasers for repelling enemy fighter, bomber, gunship and drone squadrons and it can double as a secondary weapon like all point defense lasers. The one unique feature of the Navis, however, is its reinforced forecastle. Coupled with forward-diverted shields, the Navis can deliver deadly ramming attacks on enemy ships which almost always guarantees their instant destruction. The Navis Class has shown great potential during its first days on the battlefield, leading the Navy to use it extensively as a first-response vessel during the Fringe Rebellion.
