------------------------------------------------------
The F-28C WarHawk is the upgraded variant of the previous lightweight attack aircraft F-28A SparrowHawk. Following the great success against rebel insurgents that the F-28A had, the Royal Krakabloan Air Force issued a Proposal for Upgrade (PfU) to the Harpia Defence Systems Co. in order to make the F-28 an intermediate light multi-role solution until the first bunch of the newly-ordered F-62 Ravens’ arrival. After thorough discussions between the Harpia DS and the RKrAF it has been decided to implement a Quick Structural and Mission Upgrade Program which would deliver 3 aircrafts per month for a total of 44 F-28A.
Details have been set quickly and the month after the signing of the Upgrade Contract, Harpia DS commenced works in its Main Industrial Facility in Yeager Arpt. The upgrade program included:
-New redesigned tailplane for optimum handling at low speeds
-Restructured main wings
-Removal of the refueling probe and installation of refueling receptacle behind canopy
-Software updates for the APG-68 radar and the ECM suite
-Upgrade of the flares dispenser unit
-New sensors and antennas
-Certification for use of advanced weapons like the KH-29T anti-tank missile
-Addition of newer and more survivable fuel tanks for combat range extension
The new F-28 has been designated as F-28C WarHawk and has a 55% commonality in systems with the F-62 Raven fighter and thus creating an ideal combination of heavy/light fighter aircraft concept. It has been decided to maintain the current Targeting and Optronics systems so as to keep the budget as low as possible and more advanced weapons could be purchased to equip the aircraft. In parallel with the upgrade program the Krakabloan government came to a deal with the Russian military equipment export organization Rosoboronexport for the purchase of the KH-29T anti-tank missile not only for the F-28C but also for its future F-62 aircrafts. A contract has been signed between Rosoboronexport and Harpia DS for the licensed construction of the missile under the name AS-14 Kedge.
It is obvious that the F-28C WarHawk retained its limited air-to-air capacity but augmented seriously its air-to-ground capabilities and its battlefield survival efficiency.
The remaining 12 F-28A SparrowHawks of the RKrAF will be strip downed from their operational epuipment and will be retrofitted with Advanced Air Training Equipment (AD-ATE) called Maximus+ and will be used as LEAD training aircrafts in order to train effectively the next generation of pilots who will be assigned on F-28C and F-62A aircrafts.

    @Dimkal
    Dear Corporate Representative,

    We will conduct performance trials for these types at our test facility at Edwards Air Force Base, California and its detachment at Groom Lake, Nevada.

    We would like to emphasize that these are performance trials, and procurement of any of the aircraft listed is not probable. However, we are curious about its performance nonetheless.

    Sincerely,
    Lt. Valerie Vickers, Procurement Office, Paternian Air Force
