UH-60L Blackhawk (2023)

Part count warning but it functions well on my iPad Air, just don’t save too many of these on your device!

Okay, after months of teasing this remodeled helicopter, it’s finally ready for you. This is without a doubt the hardest, most complex, most detailed, helicopter I’ve ever made!

The airframe of this bird is just unforgiving when it comes to a game like simpleplanes. I really want to thank Snargles for making his, without his airframe design I would’ve given up, sometimes you just have to get some good inspiration.

The other Blackhawk I first made looked hideous and many said the trim didn’t work that well and I believe them, so I had to inspect every single detail to get the proportions correct.

Now, let’s not waste time, so let’s get into the Blackhawk and how to use it.

Act 1 is position lights and night lights.

Act 7 would be day lights or in other words anti-collision lights.

Act 3 starts engine 1.

Act 4 starts engine 2.

If you look up above the pilot’s seat, you will see a switch with the word rotor break underneath it ( just trying to find a way to lock the rotors.)

Click that and the rotors will unlock themselves.

Now you can start the rotors. Act 5 starts the rotors.

They start slowly so wait till the blades level out completely and are spinning at a fast enough speed or else you won’t be going anywhere.

Once they are spinning fast enough, disengage act 5 and engage act 6, after pushing the throttle forward, the blades will be spinning at full power and you will have lift off.

Vtol tilts the blades. The blades flex completely on their own for realism, so be sure to keep the physics on high for its best performance.

Act 2 trims the chopper so you don’t have to fly with your nose down all the time which for some reason irritates me lol. You can control the speed of the helicopter without having to do any major movements to the aircraft.

Cargo and gunner doors can opened, just like the last one. Only exception is the cockpit doors. However, the cockpit doors can be taken off without any problems.

Breaks are somewhat complicated so when you land, since this thing for some odd reason likes to drift sideways when parked and the breaks are on, only use the breaks when you land and as soon as you are on the ground deactivate them or you will drift.

Hovering is tricky as well, the main rotor is also canted in the Blackhawk so the tail needs to be down when you attempt to hover.

There will be other variants coming such as the Pave Hawk, medevacs, Seahawks, civilian configurations, and Mike models.

And after that, the CH-47 Chinook will be coming next, if I can get the rotors to work properly that is.

“Enjoy my fellow pilots, Wheels up!”

To those who wanted me to tag them, do not get upset when I tag you, that’s all I’m gonna say.

@Gerd huh, I think I know what the problem is. There’s a switch above the pilot’s seat (not the copilot seat). It says rotor break. Click that and the blades will spin after you do the rest of the checklist. The checklist is very important if you want to fly this.

That’s all I can think what would fix it, cheers.

When trying to take off, the helicopter itself turns instead of the propellers, as a result of which it is destroyed.

@Sinastro thank you sooo much, this means everything in the world to me, I had such an awful day yesterday, so this made me the happiest I’ve been in a while, if you ever need help, all you need to do is ask.

I honestly think this is one of the best helicopters on SimplePlanes. It flies so smooth and the whole process to start it up is even better. I like that you added Act 2 as it makes flying it much easier, can’t wait for the Chinook next. Definitely a 10/10.
