2 1/2 Ton General Purpose Truck, Mk 1

While the 1/2 Ton General Purpose Truck, Mk 1 was a success as a tactical vehicle, it was neither large enough nor efficient enough to use for strategic resupply. Therefore, the Pilotmario Army submitted a requirement for such a vehicle. Major defense contractors such as Barracuda Island Test Center Highlands and Pilotmario Defense Incorporated, submitted their designs. Bandit Industrial Group did so as well, submitting a militarized variant of their popular BIG 800 4x6 truck. Surprisingly, the Army chose this truck; while not the best performance-wise, it was the simplest and most economical to maintain, something characteristic of its civilian counterpart. Furthermore, BIG could fulfill the Army's contract the quickest; its competitors needed at least a month to bring their vehicles into production, where BIG could fulfill its needs immediately by making minor retrofits to civilian vehicles on stock.

The only real changes needed were to replace the AM/FM receiver with a SCR-881 vehicle radio, revising the ignition system to use a simpler push-start system and adding a pintle mount for a machine gun. To drive, move VTOL slider up to move forward. To steer, use yaw control. To aim the gun, use pitch for elevation and roll for traverse.

In combat, it proved to be a reliable workhorse, used in anywhere a transport was needed. Troops endeared it with the nickname "Deuce and a Half", after the official 2 1/2 ton capacity. The machine's similarity to the civilian model ensured that not only parts were available, but that there was a large pool of mechanics available to maintain it. Production of these machines were deemed so important that the workers who build them were specifically exempted from conscription, ensuring that their experience will allow them to build them quickly, efficiently, and to a high standard. 88,000 of these machines were built for the military, including 3,500 refurbished civilian models. This adds to the 11,000 civilian trucks made.

The Olympian Army made use of these machines as well; its government ordered 1,200 of the civilian model before tensions rose for civil purposes. However, when tensions did rise, these vehicles were commandeered by the Army and used for their purposes. The Olympian Army made use of captured vehicles as well.

@ian1547 Takes place in fictional universe. This truck entered service in the year 141 AD. The First Olympian War began in 155 AD. AD here stands for "After Dissolution", as in the dissolution of the Olympian Empire into the various states; Pilotmarian Republic, Kingdom of Leon, Enlightened Kingdom, League of Olympia, and the State of Sancta, all which do not share borders except Sancta and Olympia.

The Pilotmario Republic is a federal republic whose philosophy runs along the lines of atheistic democratic socialists and believe it is their responsibility to further the advancement of humankind as a collective through technology and science and the elimination of religion, which they see as elements of division, though they do respect them. The theory of a unified collective is very prevalent, and ensures that tolerance to others is strong.

The Kingdom of Leone is an absolute monarchy and is highly authoritarian and militaristic. A cult of personality surrounds the Foxx family, the rulers of Leone. The Enlightened Kingdom, the League of Olympia, and the State of Sancta are all theocracies with different governments.

The Enlightened Kingdom is a Buddhist theocracy, and as such, does not have any standing armed force, other than law enforcement and palace guards. Although it is an absolute monarchy de jure, it functions as a constitutional monarchy; the power lies in the people; they may not choose the king, but they choose the Electors, much like representatives of a region. The League of Olympia is a representative democracy, with no permanent leader; the eldest Senator becomes the unofficial head of the Council, the lawmaking body of Olympia. They are the pagans, worshiping the gods of Greek mythology. The State of Sancta is an oligarchy based off of Abrahamic religions; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. All three share joint power, and all decision making is held in the Trinity; the Archbishop, the Chief Rabbi, and the Caliph. The processes these are chosen are described in their respective religious text.

The reason why these other nations are not mentioned is because the primary arms suppliers are Pilotmario and Olympia; everyone else either has no military to speak of or simply purchases their equipment from them.

What a long answer I give. Just to put all in context.
