If you want unorthodox designs, WW2's "Blohm & Voss Flugzeugwerke" is certainly the place to look.

The Blohm & Voss P.194 was a design for a mixed-power ground-attack aircraft and tactical bomber developed in Germany during World War II. Like some of Richard Vogt's other designs for Blohm & Voss, the P.194 featured an asymmetric layout. The P.194 was one of four designs Blohm & Voss submitted as a possible replacement for the venerable Junkers Ju 87 "Stuka".

In the P.194, it was intended that the thrust from the jet engine would help balance the thrust from the propeller; on a personal note, I don't think it would have worked out that way -the power delivery curve and throttle response of both engines are quite different. Nowadays we would have a computer control the throttle, and the pilot probably wouldn't even notice the strange layout of his plane; in WW2 though, the pilot would have had to rely on "fingerspitzengefühl" alone... which I doubt would be enough to survive, say, a nocturnal bad-weather takeoff with full payload (unbalancing the plane) from a battle-worn airstrip full of potholes.

Nevertheless, I thought it would be fun to build. For weaponry, I gave it a single PC500 bomb in its internal bay, a "DuKa 88" recoilless cannon with 10 rounds, and two standard 20 mm autocannons. More than ample to cause quite a bit of havoc.

Controls;

AG1 : Does nothing. I kept reserving it for an important function, but in the end I couldn't think of anything. Ah well.
AG2 : lights
AG3 : open bomb bay
AG4 : arm PC500 bomb
AG5 : drop PC500 bomb
VTOL down : flaps
Trim : elevator trim

Have fun !!

    Looks like what happens when I forget to hold down on the control key while adjusting my camera in the designer

    @GlargiBoo how so, fast? Doesn't take all that long to put together a plane that has simple, straight wings and a straightforward fuselage shape.
