The J-5 (English: Shenyang J-5/F-5, NATO codename: Fresco, Translation: Fresco) fighter, is the Shenyang State 112 Factory (now known as: The single-seat single-engine first-generation fighter, copied in the 1950s by AVIC Shenyang Aircraft Industry Co., was the first high-subsonic jet fighter built in China and equipped with the Air Force. The aircraft was developed on the basis of the Soviet MiG-17F (MiG-17F) fighter, with a swept-back mid-wing aerodynamic layout with nose intake. The aircraft is all metal structure, small in size, light in weight, and has good maneuverability at low altitude. It is equipped with a Chinese imitation turbojet 5 engine. The development of J-5 began in October 1954, and the final assembly of the first J-5 was completed on July 13, 1956, using all home-made Chinese components. On July 19, 1956, the first successful flight of the J-5 prototype was piloted by Wu Keming, a test pilot. J-5 was officially put into mass production in September 1956 and stopped production in May 1959, with a total of 767 aircraft produced. On the basis of J-5, Chengdu Aircraft Factory developed J-5 A and J-Jiao 5 aircraft, which were successfully tested in November 1964 and 1966 respectively. The development of the J-5 marked China's emergence as one of the countries in the world capable of mass-producing jet fighters at the time.

    Yeah, no, Vietnam's stay on their own land, it's the only reason why Cambodia, Laos, and maybe more other neighboring countries are seperate countries

    @Tookan In fact,our naval border is "very" close to Vietnamese coast with the distance of 94.4 kilometers,so there may be RHIB patrolling near the border(maybe they are Vietnamese RHIB).China borders Vietnam.(the two countries fought from 1979/2/17 to 1979/3/16,right after the unite of Vietnam,because of Vietnamese wanted to invade China.)

    @XHL2003
    The Tu-160 and B-1 are close in appearance but completely different, none are based on each other and the only people who do claim that are people who think they are, and there's a difference between having something in common and buying rights to reproduce a design from another country, and stay out of a conversation that hasn't directly mentioned you, we're already talking somewhere else and there's no need for you to stick your nose into a different one

    Does having something in common mean plagiarism?can I say that B1 copied Tu 160?that’s ridiculous @Tookan

    RHIBs are rarely for civilian use, also I forgot to mention PLA marines onboard

    @Tookan Civilian ships or ships for science or resources can go through freely. The lines means islands inside them are China's (a lot was taken by other countries in 20th century), and most of the area is international waters.

    Alright, now explain Chinese RHIBs close to Vietnamese coastlines

    @Tookan The South Sea is China's area since no sooner than 42 A.D, and countries in the South China Sea expressed their surrender to the Western Zhou Dynasty, which was no sooner than 771 BC. And now most collisions in the South Sea are started by the US. As for the territorial issues, at the edge of North Korea, Russia and China, China is just 10km away from the sea, but Russia built a low bridge so that no Chinese ships can get to the sea there.(There is a river). A well pneumatic layout is surely popular.

    yes, I'm aware of that part, but what explains the confrontations in the South China Sea at the moment? And sure the J-20 and MiG 1.44 have differences, but you can still see how the Chengdu still had some of the same looks and features as the MiG 1.44

    @Tookan OK, sorry about that. But you have old weapons, where does they from?(It's not sarcasm, just curious), and Chinese didn't pick on others, Zheng He wanted to build relations instead of being like people who first steped on America and then killed aborigines. And the next dynasty of Zheng he was in we didn't Conduct diplomacy until 1840. Then it's RBC, and Zhou Enlai and Mao tried to communicate peacefully. The old emperor DID called some foreigner "Barbarians"(The translate app gives me this, it's not polite at all), but mostly to West Asia and European.

    @Tookan In fact, in addition to the heavy double duck layout, the details of MIG 1.44 and j-20 are very different. The former is an adjustable abdominal inlet, while the j-20 is a DSI "mussel" inlet on both sides, which has much better stealth performance. MIG 1.44's canard aerodynamic layout has no strakes, while the j-20 is a typical canard layout with strakes, which has much better lift performance. This aerodynamic layout is completely original by Chengdu.

    And sure, the J-20 was their "own" design, but explain how it was closely based on the MiG 1.44

    Anyone is capable of building something they've designed and anyone is capable of buying blueprints off of others to produce copies on their own terms, and Vietnam is country that reuses old weaponry rather then make new, seeing the fact we don't have enough resources and people to design completely new things. If you haven't noticed, it was just a joke, but you do you and continue to pick on me as much as you want, doesn't change how you've been doing it for the past 2,000+ years

    @Tookan At least we can build them, and four years before it was made China has Low industrial level, and now the J-20 is widely considered to compete with Su-57 and F-35. How about your country?

    @Tookan Just imagine a group of people using almost primitive computing tools(abacus🧮) to develop an atomic bomb
    However, it is true that it happened in the 1960s in China🤣

    At the beginning of the Cold War, China was in urgent need of a complete air force, so imitating and studying Soviet aircraft was the only way😂
