The idea is simple, build the fastest propeller-driven plane you can possibly come up with. Use the prop class tournament validator to check if your entry is allowed. Straight line speed matters. May the fastest plane win.
Upload your plane as a successor to this post, every successor gets a free upvote. If your plane does not meet the requirements, I'll let you know as soon as possible. No news is good news!
Rules & points of interest
- Plane should pass the prop-class validation (no jets, XML-modding etc).
- Don't use the shaking glitch.
- Don't try to use the plane I provided, it's mine.
- Your plane will be flown by AI at an altitude of 40m (150 ft)
- If the AI can't keep your plane perfectly straight, I will be the pilot.
- You may only use XML for getting control surfaces on structural wings.
- Each contestant can submit a maximum of 2 entries.
- For the landing gear, you can use 0 drag parts. But only for the landing gear.
Rating system & Results
If we can hit at least 7 entries. The challenge will be featured on youtube, with me including as many entries as I can. Additionally, a forum post will be made where I announce the winner(s). There will be an extra rating for looks, but the winner will always be determined by top speed (True Airspeed / TAS). If two planes are clocking equal speeds, the one with the least amount of power wins.

Are we allowed to make the propellers 0 mass? I made an aircraft for the challenge but the props make it extremely front heavy.

@asteroidbook345 It's impossible to make a supersonic prop of any kind, there is a speed limit hard-coded into the game. Approaching this limit is the challenge, fastest plane in level flight wins.
@asteroidbook345 That's what the whole challenge is all about, it shouldn't be easy. FYI, the goal is not to break the sound barrier, but to come as close as possible.
