The BTR-80 armored transport vehicle is a 4-axle, 8-wheel drive armored transport vehicle developed by the former Soviet Union in the 1980s, which was improved from the BTR-70 armored transport vehicle. The overall layout of BTR-80 is similar to that of BTR-70. The cockpit is located at the front, with the driver on the left and the driver on the right. It is equipped with instruments, panels, control devices, radio stations, and intercoms for day and night observation and driving
In the early 1980s, after factory and national experiments, the Soviet army began equipping the BTR-80 armored transport vehicle. The first batch of BTR-80 armored transport vehicles were offline on February 24, 1984.
