Apparently I have to make the title caps for anyone to notice.
Flares can hurt the beast and destroyer and the best part is, they don't know its you!
Therefor they won't attack you at all! And you can blow them up easily.
Edit: your flare needs a lot of launch force like 1000%

With launch force 1000%, flares are ejected faster than gun bullets. Given the usual weight of a flare, plus 2000°C+ temperature, they ought to inflict considerable damage, @Awsomur
Interesting. They should at least lower the damage. Flares IRL are big flaming sticks, and they could do some damage, but not much.
Also flares have dimmer illumination
