Am I the only one to have noticed this?

This is a M-60, a belt fed .50 cal machine gun.

This is a DLT-19, A Star Wars Heavy Blaster.

See the similarities? Coincidence? I think not!

Star Wars= Firearm Stealing illuminati confirmed!

    1: m60 is not 50cal
2: the dlt19 is not modeled after the m60
    3: it's modeled after mg34/42

Cool. I doubt anyone really knew star wars would grow to how big it is today. Even if it's pretty much based on everything else ever. @joeysellers

The base inspiration for Star Wars was "Buck Rogers" if I recall correctly. George Lucas wanted to make a movie for that franchise, but couldn't because of legal issues, so he created his own universe.

@MechWARRIOR57 Yes, Doctor Who is still running. It was off air for several years (but still had books & comics & even a made-for-TV movie), but it's still around. I said "long-running" because I'm not sure if there is another TV program that has been the air longer than that show. Does anybody know of another one?

Oh. Yea I see that now. I misread your comment. :P
I also see while on the subject the DL-44 blaster (The Blaster pistol Han Solo uses) is basically a C96 pistol. Yep. Star Wars inspiration everywhere. @joeysellers

@KDS Star Wars is better, but I didn't mention Star Trek. Bossk is in The Empire Strikes Back, but his costume came from the long-running TV show DOCTOR WHO.

Most of the original Star Wars weapons were made from old props for war-themed movies, or so I've heard. Also, looking at them, I can recognize a lot of them as obsolete real-world weapons.
